The journey from Marrakesh, to the Sahara began. Stopping off at some incredible spot in the mountains including the tizi n tichka winding roads, and some local Berber villages in Ouarzazate. It was an epic day!

It was difficult to film since my camera gear wasn't ideal for the starlight and dim light in the desert. It was also constantly 40C+ and was hard to focus on filming at all times. I was just in awe trying to absorb my surroundings. If you head over to the blog though, there are many more beautiful photos of what to expect on this 2 day 1 night trip.
Best way to Experience the Sahara Desert | Camping in Merzouga, Morocco
The final Morocco vlog is here! Camping in the Sahara Desert at a spot called Merzouga.
Here we rode camels to our remote campsite, spent the night eating Moroccan food and listening to music played by the locals.
In the morning we made our way back to our new campsite by camel ride before jumping into some Jeeps to go on Safari.
To end it all a big long 13 hour bus ride to Marrakesh so we can finally show you what staying in a Riad is like.
Next stop: Flying home to surprise Jess's brother for Christmas!

Morocco Travel - Marrakech, Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert
5 day trip to Morocco, February 2015. Starting in Marrakech we took a 3 day trip across the Atlas Mountains to camp in the Sahara Desert on the final night.
Winter in Morocco I Marrakesh, Oukaimeden, Atlas Mountains, Ouarzazate, Sahara Desert
One of the best places to go during winter if you are up for an amazing adventure! Sleep overnight in a desert camp and watch the sky full of stars (It's spectacular!). Drive up the Atlas Mountains and see different landscapes from desert land, rocky mountains (with ones looking like the Grand Canyons in the USA), berber villages (like the ones you see from those bible movies), palm valley (thousands of palms lined up the streets) and so much moreeeeee. :) Go to a ski resort in Oukaimeden and see the buzzling cities of Casablanca and Marrakesh. Drink their famous mint tea and indulge yourself with various Tagine dishes. There's so much to see and experience!
Morocco part 2 - Ouarzazate to M'hamid and the Sahara Desert
From Ouarzazate we head to Zagora, then M'hamid from where we set off on a three day desert adventure.

A short overview of our one week trip to Morocco.
We visited Marrakech for one night, then took a 5 hour bus through High Atlas mountains to Ouarzazate. Next day we took an 8 hour bus ride to Merzouga where we stayed in a Berber camp in the Sahara desert. After the sunrise we rode camels through the dunes back to Merzouga. One more night there and we took the 8hour bus back. For the final day we went to the Ait Benhhadou village.

Exploring The Sahara Desert In Morocco: Camel Rides & Movie Sets | Travel Vlog: Ouarzazate, Merzouga
While in Morocco we went on a desert tour through the Sahara desert. We saw many great places like Ouarzazate, Aït Benhaddou, Dades gorge, Todra gorge and we went on a camel ride through the sand dunes of Merzouga. We also saw countless movie sets: Ouarzazate Cinema Museum, CLA Studios and Cinema Studio Atlas (Atlas Studios). Famous movies and TV shows like Gladiator, Alexander the Great, Kingdom of Heaven, Game of Thrones, Lawrence of Arabia, The Mummy, Seven years in Tibet, Passion of the Christ, The hills have eyes, James Bond and countless others were filmed here.
