Best way to Experience the Sahara Desert | Camping in Merzouga, Morocco
The final Morocco vlog is here! Camping in the Sahara Desert at a spot called Merzouga.
Here we rode camels to our remote campsite, spent the night eating Moroccan food and listening to music played by the locals.
In the morning we made our way back to our new campsite by camel ride before jumping into some Jeeps to go on Safari.
To end it all a big long 13 hour bus ride to Marrakesh so we can finally show you what staying in a Riad is like.
Next stop: Flying home to surprise Jess's brother for Christmas!

Two weeks ago we returned from a great photo trip to Morocco. We spent 15 days in this beautiful country and explored both the cities and also the desert. In this vlog we travel from Marrakech to the Erg Chigaga desert and I show you the places we visit and photograph along the way.
The highlight was our stay in the Al Koutban Berber Camp and photographing the endlesss dunes.

Unique animated photos of Erg Chebbi, a desert in south-eastern Morocco and Merzouga
East of village of Merzouga lies Erg Chebbi in south-eastern Morocco. It is one of two Saharan ergs in the northwest African nation. Its distinctive ergs — large dunes formed by wind-blown sand — reach up to 150 meters high, and form a composite erg 22 km long (north-south) and 5 km wide.

Morocco's Night Sky with Milky Way - Timelapse Video
Milky way is a wonderful sight to experience, especially in our current world with ever increasing light pollution. Morocco is one of those great locations, where you can still find very very dark places to properly see the night sky as our ancestors saw it every night.
This timelapse video offers night view at some iconic or less known locations in various parts of Morocco, might it be Sahara desert, Ksar Aït Benhaddou (UNESCO), High Atlas Mountains & Toubkal National Park or Telouet Kasbah along former caravan route from Sahara over Atlas Mountains to Marrakech. You can see darkest part of lunar month when #MilkyWay is wonderfully visible or some sequences are under direct #Moon light, which creates nicely moving Moon shadow. I've also added animated star trails to show you how stars can move in different pattern, might it be full circle when you point the camera towards North Star or semicircle when you are facing south direction.

It was difficult to film since my camera gear wasn't ideal for the starlight and dim light in the desert. It was also constantly 40C+ and was hard to focus on filming at all times. I was just in awe trying to absorb my surroundings. If you head over to the blog though, there are many more beautiful photos of what to expect on this 2 day 1 night trip.
