Devanahalli, also called Devandahalli, Dyaavandalli, Devanadoddi and Devanapura, is a town and Town Municipal Council in Bangalore Rural district in the state of Karnataka in India. The town is located 40 kilometres (25 mi) to the north-east of Bangalore. Devanahalli is the site of the Bengaluru International Airport, the second largest airport in India. A multibillion-dollar Devanahalli Business Park with two IT Parks are coming up on nearly 400 acres (1.6 km2) adjoining the airport. An Aerospace Park, Science Park and a ₹10 billion (US$160 million) Financial City are also coming up. A new satellite ring road will connect the city with Doddaballapur. Devanahalli is situated near the upcoming ₹1,500 billion (US$23 billion), 12,000-acre (49 km2) BIAL IT Investment Region, to be the largest IT region in India.[3]
Total infrastructure development in the area is estimated to be well over ₹20,450 billion (US$320 billion) over the next two years. With significant commercial and residential development in the area, real estate is in high demand in the region. Devanahalli was the birthplace of Tipu Sultan, popularly known as the Tiger of Mysore.

Kempegowda International Airport (IATA: BLR, ICAO: VOBL) is an international airport serving Bengaluru, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. Spread over 4,000 acres (1,600 ha), it is located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of the city near the village of Devanahalli. It is owned and operated by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), a public–private consortium. The airport opened in May 2008 as an alternative to increased congestion at HAL Airport, the original primary commercial airport serving the city. It is named after Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bengaluru. Kempegowda International Airport became Karnataka's first fully solar powered airport developed by CleanMax Solar.[5][6]

Kempegowda Airport is the third-busiest airport by passenger traffic in the country, behind the airports in Delhi and Mumbai, and is the 29th busiest airport in Asia. It handled over 25.04 million passengers in the calendar year 2017 with over 600 aircraft movements a day. The airport also handled about 314,060 tonnes (346,190 short tons) of cargo.

The airport consists of a single runway and passenger terminal, which handles both domestic and international operations. A second runway is being constructed and is expected to be operational by September 2019 while a second terminal is in the early stages of construction. Also, there is a cargo village and three cargo terminals. The airport serves as a hub for AirAsia India, Alliance Air, and IndiGo and a focus city for Air India and SpiceJet.

Terminals
Terminal 1 accommodates both domestic and international operations. It covers 150,556 m2 (1,620,570 sq ft) and can handle 20 million passengers annually.[42][44] Check-in and baggage reclaim are situated on the lower floor, while all departure gates are located on the upper floor. There are a total of twelve gates: six domestic gates (gates 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 15) and six international gates (16, 17, 18, 21-22, 23-24, 25-26).[53] Gate 25-26 is equipped to serve the world's largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380.[54] Lounges are provided by Above Ground Level and Plaza Premium Lounge, which also operates a day hotel in the terminal.[55] For VIPs there is a separate 930-square-metre (10,000 sq ft) lounge.[43][56]

Devanahalli Complete Tour- fort and Temples

Devanahalli is about 25 kms from Bangalore on Bangalore-Hyderabad National Highway. The fort is just about 100 mtrs away by the side of National Highway. The fort has a majestic entrance. But the inside is used as a regular habitation. There are many beautiful temples inside the fort, such as, venu gopal swamy temple, Siddeswar swamy temple etc. Tipu's birth place is about half km away from the fort. Both these places are interesting for a weekend trip from Bangalore.

Devanahalli Jain Temple near Bangalore

Nakoda Jain temple is constructed near Devanahalli on a small hill by the side of Bangalore-Hyderabad national highway. During our visit the temple was under construction. There is a small Hanuman temple on the way under a huge single stone bolder. There are quite a few temples of different Jain tirthankars in the same campus near to each other. There is also a 52 Jinalaya temple dedicated to 52 tirthankaras. The statues of Pashwanath bhagavan, Chandraprabhu bhagavan, Sitalanath bhagavan, Sumatinath bhagavan and many other tirthankaras are are all beautifully carved on white marble. The place is devine and peaceful.
