The Devil's Kitchen is an unusual rock formation carved by the sea through the sheer rock face of the eastern coast of the Peninsula.

塔斯马尼亚Tasmania世界尽头/亚瑟港自然奇观/魔鬼厨房Devils Kitchen/棋盘道Tessellated Pavement喷水洞The Blowhole/塔斯曼拱门Tasman Arch
【亚瑟港 Port Arthur】
亚瑟港是澳洲塔斯马尼亚州的一个小镇，位于塔斯马尼亚州首府荷巴特东南约40公里的一个半岛上。该半岛历史悠久，有优美的海岸线。而历史上此处曾作为关押犯人的场所，是整个澳洲19世纪初期黑暗历史的一部分。1830年最初时亚瑟港是个伐木场，在1833年至1850年左右，这裡成为了英国和爱尔兰判刑最重的囚犯的关押所。之所以选中亚瑟港关押，是因为三面环水有鲨鱼，唯一的大陆和亚瑟港交通要道是北部的「鹰脖」隘口。1895年和1897年的两场大火席捲了整个地区，摧毁了剩馀建筑。随后土地则被公开发售，从亚瑟港被出售后，澳大利亚政府于1979年接手了此地并着手开发成旅游景点。1987年此地由塔斯马尼亚政府财政支持的亚瑟港历史管理局接管。如今，越来越多的游客每年都来到此地参观留念。
【喷水洞 The Blowhole】
位于鹰脖湾南方的尾端，因水柱喷潮以及海水抽搐的涛声奇观而闻名。沿海尽是发达的柱状玄武岩，由于海浪长年的冲击，形成了狭长的海蚀沟及海蚀洞。每当巨浪激盪，冲向洞口，如遇到风势大、风向恰好、海水涨潮时，还可见到水柱喷潮的奇观。
【塔斯曼拱门 Tasman Arch】
是海水冲蚀所造成的天然海蚀洞或是海蚀拱门，受潮汐长期侵蚀逐渐凹陷，最后被风浪挖穿形成的洞穴。这个经过数百万年的时间淬鍊的天然景观，拱门顶端离海 52.7 公尺高，崎岖的海岸线在这裏没入幽静无声的峡谷，并向森林公园延伸。
【棋盘道 Tessellated Pavement】
位于鹰脖湾北方，远远望去就像是由一个个长方形构成的平整棋盘道，呈现出一格一格的特殊景观，这一带从前是海平面下的一块凹地，但不断有泥沙、石头、贝类等各种物质在这堆积后而形成平台，到来自不同方向地壳运动的推挤，当海水退潮后，平台上会留下结晶盐，经由结晶盐不断的累积并侵蚀，则更加深每一条裂缝的痕迹，因而形成现在像似棋盘的景象。
【鹰脖湾 Eaglehawk Neck】
与亚瑟港监狱最息息相关的地方，从前囚犯逃狱，逃出亚瑟港只成功一半，还要通过鹰颈地峡，才算是真正的成功，塔斯曼半岛(Tasman Peninsula)三面环海，唯一与塔斯马尼亚本岛连结的狭长形土地，路面宽仅约一百公尺。当时官员利用这个特殊地形，安排许多官兵及看守犬在这驻守，阻止想逃狱至本岛的囚犯。
【魔鬼厨房 Devils Kitchen】
海浪的侵蚀使海岸后退形成海崖，其底部继续被海浪冲蚀出—个凹进的洞穴即成蚀洞。传说海盗盛行期间，抓住船员投入其下，塔斯马尼亚的魔鬼兽会来聚餐。

Tasman's Arch, Tasmania
Located in Eaglehawk Neck, Australia.
Eaglehawk Neck is a narrow isthmus connecting the Tasman Peninsula to mainland Tasmania.
Tasman's Arch is a naturally occurring arch, - an enlarged cave running from the coast and extending inland.
The roof at the landward end of the tunnel has collapsed, but the walls of the cave are too high and the hole too large for a blowhole to form.

Magical Waterfall Bay ~ Tasman Peninsula
The Tasman Peninsula has some extraordinary natural landmarks which are definitely worth the short walks to each of them! The landscapes are picturesque every way you look, start the walk from Tasman Arch / Devil's Kitchen and go past Patersons Arch on the way to Waterfall Bay.

hang gliding tasmania: eaglehawk neck - fortescue bay return (856x480)
Hang gliding at Eaglehawk Neck in Tasmania, Australia. Boris and I flew to
Fortescue Bay and back. Trip back was slow for me (I fly old wing - AirBorne Shark) due to wind being bit too much from the north but still producing ridge lift. On our way to the Fortescue Bay we were watched by the local wedge tail eagle. On our return he was not happy so it made few passes to let us know to stay away from his teritory. We change our course and flew towards the Devils Kitchen blow hole avoiding his teritory. The air was smooth with lots of lift. In summary - great flight with Fortescue Bay club getting two more HG pilots.
