THE DEVIL'S CHAIR TRAIL THE DEVIL'S PUNCHBOWL, CA
The Devil's Punchbowl is located an hour and a 1/2 drive outside of Los Angeles and a 4-hour drive outside of Las Vegas. One of the most popular trails in the park is the 7.5 mile Devil's Chair hike which is labeled as moderate. This video was shot back in early April 2019 and I did this hike with my good friend Robyn. The trail showcases a lot of its geological marvel! You see different color rocks and many layers of the earth uplifted. This is a really beautiful and fun hike so hopefully, after watching this you guys will give this a shot yourselves!

Geology Lesson At The Devil's Punchbowl California LA
On September 13th 2007 we traveled to the Devil's Punchbowl near Pearblossom California. I spoke to Park Superintendent David Numer about the punchbowl formation and the San Andreas Fault and other faults.
David gave us a geology lesson about the San Andreas but he also talked about other faults in the area, including the Pinon Fault. East -- west faults like the San Andreas are called transverse faults. Another transverse fault, the Garlock Fault, extends from Gorman to the Nevada State line through the Tehachapi Mountains.
The Devil's Punchbowl offers a guided tour on Sundays to the San Andreas Fault. Tours start at 1 PM.
Gray Fox at the Devil's PunchBowl (Pearblossom, Ca.)
I see this fox almost every time I go out to the PunchBowl to volunteer. I decided to take out the best parts of my footage and put it into this video. If you want to visit the Devil's PunchBowl, here's a few links to maps and information. I recommend going for an amazing experience and if you are into geology it is a perfect place to see fault lines.

Gopher Snake at the Devil's Punchbowl (Pearblossum Ca.)
So my friend and I were hiking and she almost stepped on the gopher snake. She then got a mini heart attack and ran 20 feet from the snake but later came close to look at it. :)

About Pearblossom
The name Pearblossom came from the multitude of local pear farms along the southern ridge of the Antelope Valley A few still exist today, but most of those farms are now abandoned and have returned to the desert landscape or have been overridden by small-scale housing development
Pearblossom is also a popular destination, for its annual Duck Races; convenient location for hiking in the foothills; and picturesque photo opportunities
