Shuitou Deyue Tower (Kinmen, Taiwan)
The Shuitou Deyue Tower / 水頭得月樓 was built in 1931 by Huang Hui-huang, a Shuitou native and wealthy merchant in Indonesia. The tower measures 11-plus meters in height. On its rooftop are crenellated walls for gun defense. Its underground tunnel leads to a nearby western building. On the left of the Deyue Tower stand three grand western buildings in a row.
Nearby is the Jinshui Primary School / 金水國小 with a small emigration and overseas Chinese museum.
Shuitou village / 水頭聚落 itself is full of old buildings built by rich overseas Chinese merchants, including a Peranakan family, resulting in a complex of buildings with a mix of local and Western architecture.

A Journey To Kinmen Part 2 金門 - 回家走走
This is my cousin 蔡顯揚 Raymond Chua's second trip to Kinmen. This time he brought his parents and sister to visit our hometown Kinmen 金門 in Taiwan. His parents and sister have never visited Kinmen 金門 and it was the first time for his father to visit the old traditional house where his father and great grandfather used to stay. I have created this home video with a sense of humour to make it more entertainment and at the same time to learn more about the culture. Enjoy!
