I have seen many people complaining about that there is no good place to visit in Bihar & recently i read an article which stated that there is no better location to shoot films In Bihar. I think those filmmakers should do a better research & than say anything.
below is the mention of Rohtasgarh in the constitution of Akbar about the beauty & waterfalls of Rohtas.


The Ain-i-Akbari mentions :-

“Rohtas is a stronghold on the summit of a lofty mountain, difficult to access. It has a circumference of 14 kos and the land is cultivated. It contains many springs, has wherever the soil is excavated to the depth of three or four yards, water is visible. In the rainy season lakes are formed, and more than two hundred waterfalls gladden the eye and ear. The climate is remarkably healthy.”

.The Rohtas Plateau or Kaimur Plateau (8 to 10 kms from Dehri on sone) comprises about 800 square miles (2,100 km2). It is an undulating table land. At Rohtasgarh(20 Kms from dehri on sone) it attains a height of 1490 ft above sea level. The rivers flowing over the edges of the plateau and into the deep gorges form numerous waterfalls, with a drop varying from two hundred to six hundred feet. The road approaches to the plateau from the plains are difficult. The ghats leading from Akbarpur to Rohtas are the most moderate. Significant waterfalls along Rohtas Plateau are: Devdari Falls (58m) on the Karmanasa River, Telharkund Falls (80m) on the Suara West River, Suara Falls (120m) on the Suara East River, Durgawaati Falls (80m) on the Durgavati River, Okharean Kund Falls (90m) on Gopath River, Dhuan Kund Falls (30m) (near Dehri on sone) on the Dhoba River, Kuaridah Falls (180m) on the Ausane River, a tributary of Son River, and Rakim Kund Falls (168m), on the Gayghat River, a tributary of Ausane Rive.

शहर से 10 किलोमीटर दूर कैमूर पहाड़ी पर स्थित मांझर कुंड जल प्रपात पुराने समय से ही सैलानियों के आकर्षण का केंद्र रहा है। स्थानीय लोगों के अलावा दूर दराज के सैलानी भी काफी संख्या में यहां पहुंचते हैं। पूर्व में रक्षाबंधन के बाद पड़ने वाले पहले रविवार को यहां गुरुग्रंथ साहब को ले जाने की परंपरा रही थी। यहां तीन दिनों तक भव्य मेला का दृश्य बना रहता था। सिख समुदाय के लोग सपरिवार तीन दिनों तक मांझर कुंड पर प्रवास करते थे। इनके अलावा बिहार के अलावा देश के अन्य राज्यों से भी हजारों सैलानी पहुंचते और पिकनिक मनाते थे। कोई खाने-पीने का रेडिमेड सामान लेकर पहुंचता था, वहीं काफी संख्या में लोग जल प्रपात के आसपास पहाड़ी पर ही फैल अपने मन पसंद का भोजन बना लजीज व्यंजनों का लुत्फ उठाते थे।

रोहतास डिस्ट्रिक की प्राकृतिक सुंदरता का यह शानदार उदाहरण है

सासाराम: रोहतास जिला मुख्यालय सासाराम से महज 8 किमी दूर कैमूर पर्वत श्रृंखला में अवगत मांझर कुंड के मनोवैज्ञानिकम दृश्य इस बार भी हजारो सैलानियों को अपनी ओर खींच लाया। हिंदी के भादो महीने का पहला रविवार पहाड़ के उपर कलकल बहती नदी और झरनों में स्नान के लिए माकूल समय माना जाता है। पौराणिक कथाओं के मुताबिक सिखों के एक गुरु ने इसी दिन अपने अनुयायियों के साथ उक्त मनोवैज्ञानिकम स्थल पर अपनी रात बिताई थी। तब से यह स्थल समुदाय को सिखाता है कि कुछ दिनों तक तीर्थयात्रा शुरू की जाए। धीरे-धीरे यह मौका धार्मिक बन्धनों को तोड़कर आम लोगों के लिए पिकनिक स्थल बन गया। गत रविवार को पुरे शहर ने मांझर कुंड का रुख कर दिया। अधिकांश लोग रात बितास्कर सोमवार को वापस लौट आए। इस मौके पर सासाराम से जुड़े लोग चाहे देश के किसी हिस्से में रहते हों, इस दिन के आनंद के लिए दौड़े चले आते हैं।
