Freestyle Muay Thai Padwork in Thailand at Diamond Muay Thai
Download my FREE Power Kicking Routine ===
It doesn't get much better than smashing some freestyle Muay Thai padwork in Thailand with a great trainer like Kru Baow of Diamond Muay Thai.
This 3-minute freestyle padwork round is focused primarily on my boxing combinations with a mixture of teeps, elbows and knees. I didn't throw any roundhouse kicks because my shins were quite beat up from a recent fight I just had.
I love training at Diamond Muay Thai training camp here in Koh Phangan, Thailand because all of the trainers are top notch.
It took a bunch of training sessions with Baow until we got into a good flow and rhythm with one another where we could do freestyle Muay Thai padwork. If you're able to do this style of freestyle padwork for Muay Thai or for boxing I HIGHLY recommend it because not only is it super fun, but you're able to use the techniques you want and fight your own style.

What Muay Thai Gym Should I Train At In Thailand?

What is the best Muay Thai gym in Thailand?
What Muay Thai camp should I train at in Thailand?
These are the most common questions I get when it comes to traveling, training and fighting in Thailand. Since it's such a common question -- and since it's not an easy answer -- I decided to make this video breaking down the 5 key factors to consider when choosing which gym to train at in Thailand.
=======================================
5 Key Factors When Choosing A Muay Thai Gym In Thailand
#1. The Location ????
Want hardcore training in the mecca of Muay Thai? Try Bangkok.
Enjoy the beaches and some down time? Phuket might be best.
Like a blend of city and mountains? Then try Chiang Mai!
There are also other places to try like Pattaya, Isaan, Koh Samui, Pai, Hua Hin and others.
#2. The Trainers ????
You travel all the way to Thailand to get the best training possible. And to get the best training possible, you need the best TRAINERS!
How Do I Know If My Trainer Is Any Good?
How To Recognize A Good (Or Bad) Muay Thai Coach
#3. Training Partners ????
Iron sharpens iron. You need to be surrounded by motivated, passionate individuals if you want to get the most out of your training.
#4. The Atmosphere ????
Every gym has a different vibe to it. Some are super intense and serious, others are more laid back and relaxed. Understanding your goals and what you need to improve and enjoy your experience in Thailand is important to know when considering which gym to choose.
#5. The Facilities ????
Do you want a nice looking gym that has state-of-the-art facilities? Or would you appreciate the bare necessities and the rugged feel to some more old school gyms?
Does the gym offer other classes like MMA, yoga or strength and conditioning? Do they have on-site accommodation, a pool, a restaurant and other services? These are all things to consider!
=======================================
????????How To Book Your Muay Thai Training Experience ????????
There are a few different options to booking your Muay Thai experience in Thailand:
Uptrek ( -- This travel company offers a huge category of different training camp experiences in Thailand, plus they are very convenient, easy-to-use and customer friendly.
Thailand Training Camps ( -- I host Muay Thai camps all around Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Phangan). These experiences are very group-oriented where we go to fight nights together, explore nearby attractions, attend team BBQ's and much more.
Book Directly With The Gym -- Contact the gym you're interested in attending to sort out the finer details directly with them!

Sparring With Kru Nop at Diamond Muay Thai
Here a few snippets of myself sparring at Diamond Muay Thai during my first trip to Thailand. It's sparring time!
Training sessions in Thailand can be tough. Every day, it's time for Muay Thai training two times a day.
Sparring recreates the most similar scenario to a real fight. The way they tend to do it in Thailand is quite different from how we are used to in Europe.
Generally, they prefer technical sparring where hits are not too powerful. Vision and smartness are preferred to strong blows. Cleverness more than trying to knock each other out.
This aims to train the mind to be prepared to do the most effective thing without wasting energy.
In addition, it's important to maintain a clean and precise technique.
That's why in this Muay Thai training and sparring session, we are not hitting each other too hard.
I personally prefer technical sparring. I believe the sparring pace should be challenging and keep you attentive and focus, but there's no need to hurt each other when sparing.
My first trip to Thailand was an important step in my Martial Path.
What was a milestone for you in your Martial Arts Path?
