Wandelen en fietsen langs het Dijlepad tussen Mechelen en Muizen

In deze video neem ik jullie mee langs de oevers van de Dije.
Het Dijlepad kan je bereiken via de nieuwe terrassen aan de Zandpoortvest.
Deze wandel en fietsroute gaat langs een omgeving vol natuur en rustige plekken aan de rand van de stad. Een aanrader voor iedereen die de drukte van de stad even wil ontvluchten maar daarvoor geen grote afstanden wil afleggen. Je kan deze route tenslotte terugvinden op een boogscheut van het centrum van de Mechelse binnenstad, en verloren lopen is bijna geen optie op dit traject.

Inhuldiging Binnen Dijle Zandpoortvest te Mechelen

Sfeerbeelden en interviews van de inhuldiging van de Binnen-Dijle die na veertig jaar weer bovengronds te zien is aan de Zandpoortvest in Mechelen. De voormalige parking tussen de twee gebouwen van de Thomas More Hogeschool heeft plaatsgemaakt voor een groene, open ontmoetingsplek met zacht hellende oevers. De vernieuwde Zandpoortvest vormt nu een groene schakel tussen de Kruidtuin en het Mechels broek. Garant voor heerlijk wandelen en fietsen.

Renovatie Battelbrug te Mechelen

De Battelbrug over het kanaal Leuven-Dijle verkeerde in slechte staat, zodat na enkele tussentijdse herstellingen werd beslist om ze grondig te renoveren. De oude brug werd daarbij afgebroken en het stalen beweegbare gedeelte werd volledig vervangen. Hier zie je een korte impressie van deze werken, die werden uitgevoerd door aannemer Artes Roegiers in opdracht van Waterwegen en Zeekanaal NV en in nauw overleg met de stad Mechelen, tussen 7 september en 9 oktober 2015.

A weekend to discover a city, streets wit children, people in feesr and some protesters with a good mood. They said it is, the last day with sun. We never know her in Belgium ????????

Rozenfeesten in het Vrijbroekpark in Mechelen

Het is vandaag Zondag 16 juni 2019
Het zijn Rozenfeesten in het Vrijbroekpark in Mechelen.
90ste verjaardag van het park moest speciaal gevierd worden en met deze editie van de jaarlijkse Rozenfeesten denk ik dat het park en al zijn medewerkers een mooie viering hebben neergezet.
Naast een massa volk, die van de zon, sfeer, bloemenpracht en animatie kwamen genieten was er nog een leuk aanbod van rare speeltuigen voor de kinderen.
Ik ben er in de namiddag naartoe geweest om deze video te maken en zag alleen maar blije gezichten. Maar wat wil je als je een fijne dag kan doorbrengen in een mooi natuurdomein, met eens schitterend assortiment aan rozen en andere bloemen, vakkundig onderhouden door een team van tuinmannen die dagelijks bezig zijn om de tuin zo mooi mogelijk te houden.
In de tuinen de tavernes kon je overigens ook terecht voor een natje en/of een droogje.
Kortom, het was een prachtige dag om van te genieten.
Ik heb er deze korte video over gemaakt en hoop dat jullie het leuk vinden.

BFTP bezocht Mechelen

Op 29 september 2018 bezocht BFTP (Belgian Federation Of Tourist Press) de stad van de Maneblussers. Het studiebezoek was een organisatie van Marc Declercq ism Visit Mechelen. Samen hadden zij een boeiend dagprogramma samengesteld.
Dit filmpje is een korte terugblik op die dag en bevat het bezoek aan het schepenhuis, Hof van Busleyden, Groot Begijnhof en de brouwerij Het Anker.
