Llanerfyl (Part 1)
Welshpool & Llanfair based 7mm Narrow Gauge Model
Dudmaston (Shropshire) NT 10.06.15
Enchanted wooded parkland, sweeping gardens and a house with a surprise, Dudmaston is something unexpected in the Shropshire countryside. A much loved home for over 875 years you will find the family rooms scattered with photos and perhaps an odd pair of shoes or two peeping out from under a table. The unexpected galleries create a total contrast, with their formal, crisp lines. They were designed by the last owner, Rachel, Lady Labouchere, to house her and her husband’s differing modern and traditional collections of art for the visitor to peruse. The gardens provide amazing vistas and tranquillity while the orchard is the perfect place to relax and for the children to let off steam. For more stunning views and getting up close to nature head to Big Pool and Dingle woods, while the wider estate provides extensive walking routes for year round enjoyment. Dudmaston Hall is the family home of Mr and Mrs Mark Hamilton-Russell.
Garden Railways - The Southwold Railway
filmed in 2006 (with a massive hangover if I recall correctly) this is Stephen Bazire's homage to the famous narrow gauge railway in Suffolk. Contains some great black and white footage of the original railway.
Accucraft 7/8 Scale Penrhyn Large Quarry Hunslet First Test Run On CHR
Today Wednesday received my Accucraft 7/8th scale large quarry Hunslet steam locomotive from Trackshack. Rushed over to Raif Copley to do a test run on his Coombe Hill Railway. We did the first run on a rolling road, plenty of steam and oil, the gas ran out before the water. The second run was around the line light loco, oil less of a problem. The Hunslet is a very nice loco which could be improved, the oil needs some form of a check on the flow to and out of the chimney. Replacing the water filler with a water top up valve so that water can be replaced on the run. All in all I am very happy with my purchase!!!!!Accucraft
