DINOSAUR TRACKS ! ! ! .... *(From many, many, years ago
So while out in the Black Mesa, & viewing the 3-State Marker, got to stop by the World Famous Dinosaur Tracks, in the Sandstone Strata Creek Bed, near Kenton, OK. Formed many, many years ago, as the Rocky Mountains were forming, these fella's roamed the Countryside, and not quite identified by Scientists, but thought to
come by Theropod... The tracks are in Creek, on Private property,
but are open to Public to view, during Daylight hours..(Located just off the Main road which runs past the 3-state marker, and ALSO adjacent to the Black Mesa, highest elevation in Oklahoma..At the
Park, you are able to hike the trail to top, ( 8 1/2 Mile) about an
all day hike.. A lot of Rattlers, so be on watch... ) The thumbnail
picture shows one of the prints when dry.. Supposed, the best times for viewing, are during Winter months.. People arrive from around the World, to see these Tracks, being some of finest in World to view..Hope you enjoy, we had a great time in the Mesa..
Will be back shortly for some more great Music...
**** THANX FOR WATCHING, & HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY ! ! !

Permian Mudrocks in Oklahoma are Stankey!
Okay, what I meant to say is the Permian mudrocks are slakey...or, more correctly, the mudrocks tend to slake when placed in water. This video features a trip to the outcrop located in a vacant lot in the middle of a residential neighborhood in Stillwater, Oklahoma. At the base of the hard-to-the-touch or erosionally resistant sandstone is a section of mudrock. These red Permian mudrocks may appear to be solid as a rock, but in reality, they are so poorly consolidated that the mudrocks fall apart when in placed contact with water. Please watch the accompanying video Permian Slake to see what happens when a chunk of this mudstone is dropped in a jar of water! This character of the Oklahoma landscape gives real meaning to the concept of Oklahoma red dirt? By the way, I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (
3-STATE MARKER ! ! ! * (Way, Way Out That-away
So while spending a day at the Dinosaur tracks, in the Black Mesa
Lake Bed, we got to go by the 3-State marker.. Oklahoma, Colorado, & New Mexico.. Is fun, standing in Three States at once !!! ( At least, since we went by Four Corners, a few years ago..that is fun also! ) It is something, about standing in multiple areas, I think, that just makes you realize just how small the World is, after
all ! We had Travel Dude with us, which is a GOOD thing, as travel in this region is very odd, and difficult to navigate, even if you have Garmin, or other GPS assistance.. The roads are long, you travel about, and across MULTIPLE Cattle guards, and sometimes the Roads seem never ending.. Close to, the End of the World...
But Oh, so very, very, beautiful Country ! ! ! We at LAST got to wind our way to the Dinosaur Tracks, which are still visible in the old Creek bed, ( They were in there, in the Black Mesa, as the Rocky
Mountains were still forming ! ! ! I got a nice video, will post that next week, of the Dinosaur tracks, unfortunate, however, they were filled with water at the time, as they had a pretty intense Rain Storm a few days before we arrived.. The tracks are still visible, however..We got to speak with the gentleman at the Kenton Museum for a long while, he was very knowledgeable of the region, and History...A very nice Museum in Kenton..It is the LAST town in Oklahoma, WAY out in the Panhandle, just over the Bridge from New Mexico...No Mans Land And rather close to Raton Pass, which we will visit next time..way up on top of the mountain, on the road to Denver...
Hope you enjoy this short, 3-State video, and next week, will lode the fun video of the DINOSAUR TRACKS ! ! ! Stay tuned !

Oklahoma State Fossil
The Saurophaganax was an allosaurid found in the panhandle of Oklahoma and is also the state fossil. If you'd like to see one on display, visit the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History. ---- This video is merely me messing around with Illustrator and After Effects.
STEM Journals - Paleontology
Geoff unearths fossils dating from 50 and 150 million years ago in the heart of Wyoming’s dinosaur fossil country. International paleontologists work together to excavate a suspected fossilized Diplodocus dinosaur. Meanwhile a researcher at Arizona State University studies stromatolites, the most ancient record of life on Earth, as a potential analogue for prehistoric Martian life.
