Back in June, Laura Reid and I had the chance to visit Kusadasi. It happened to be one of the stops on our Celestyal cruise trip with Discover Greece! Although we were only in Kusadasi Turkey for a short time, we really got the chance to experience the best parts of the city. Ephesus was by far one of the most impressive sites we visited in all of Greece and Turkey combined and is definitely worth seeing if you have the chance! If you're looking for what to do in Kusadasi, or the best things to see in Kusadasi, this video will help you decide!

Ephesos (Turkey) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Ephesos in Turkey.
Ephesos is Turkey’s most scenic historic excavation site and one of the most well preserved of all the cities of antiquity, a place of the superlative whose structures continue to impress right up to the present day.Due to Greek influence the name of the venerated goddess of fertility was changed to ‘Artemis’ whose temple became one of the greatest pilgrimage destinations within the seven wonders of the ancient world. Temples and hillside buildings lined Kureten Street, one of the city’s main streets, each villa highlighting the wealth of its occupants. The buildings were embellished with valuable mosaics, wall paintings and many works of art. Although Ephesos eventually fell into decay, unlike other cities of antiquity it has not been lost forever and has managed to survive a thousand years of slumber.

Explore Ephesus, Turkey
Ephesus was an ancient Greek city on the coast of Ionia. The Romans took it over in 129 BCE; it flourished for centuries, but was eventually destroyed by the Goths. It’s considered an important site for Christianity, and some think the Gospel of John may have been written here. One of the largest Roman archaeological sites in the eastern Mediterranean, the ruins today are vast and impressive, making for an awe-inspiring trip.

Ephesus & The House of Mary, Kusadasi, Turkey - Unravel Travel TV
Ephesus, Turkey via Drone
Ephesus was an ancient Greek city on the coast of Ionia southwest of present-day Selçuk in İzmir Province, Turkey. It was built in the 10th century BC on the site of the former Arzawan capital by Attic and Ionian Greek colonists. During the Classical Greek era it was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League. The city flourished after it came under the control of the Roman Republic in 129 BC.
The city was famed for the nearby Temple of Artemis (completed around 550 BC), one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Among many other monumental buildings is the Library of Celsus, and a theatre capable of holding 25,000 spectators.
Ephesus was one of the seven churches of Asia that are cited in the Book of Revelation. The Gospel of John may have been written here. The city was the site of several 5th century Christian Councils
The city was destroyed by the Goths in 263, and although rebuilt, the city's importance as a commercial center declined as the harbor was slowly silted up by the Küçükmenderes River. It was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 614 AD.
