Travelogue: 3 Days in Yogyakarta Indonesia. Kopi Joss, Borobudur and more!!!
After our Jakarta Trip with AirAsia Filipino, me and my friend Lee (@ilovepaars) thought of exploring Yogyakarta first before heading back to the Philippines.
I heard a lot about this city and at first I was expecting a very hipster town with their artsy cafe's (and actually artisan everything) but for the 3 days that we spent exploring around, we experienced more about its culture and history rather than its crafted coffee (well, with the exemption of the famous kopi joss) .
It is one of my longest vlog (yet) as I thought of putting everything in it and not divide it into parts. Let me know what you think about it.
Thank you very much to those who made this trip possible:

Yogyakarta, Indonesia: Jogjakarta, Borobudur, and the Last of Indonesia
In my last episode from Indonesia, I made my way to the city of Yogyakarta, or as the locals calls it, Jogjakarta, Indonesia. I have to be honest, I've been pretty disappointing with travel so far on Java Island. Though there is a lot of potential, there are also loads of scams and scammers. Yogyakarta was different though. I thoroughly enjoyed the historical city and would gladly go back to spend some more time. During our stay in Yogyakarta we also went out to visit the world famous Borobudur Temple just an hour away. Though Borobudur is impressive, it is extremely overpriced, and borders on being theft. It costs about $25 for tourists to enter the site, and $35 more if they want to stay to watch the sun set. It really is crazy.
Anyways, as mentioned this is the last video from Indonesia (on this trip anyways) stay tuned for episode from further afield.

Borobudur sunrise, Prambanan Temple and travel in Yogyakarta, Indonesia
Sunrise at Borobudur, a few adventures in Yogyakarta, followed by an afternoon exploring Prambanan Temple in Indonesia.
What an amazing way to spend a few days in Yogyakarta, Indonesia!
❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊❊
Sunrise at Borobudur is definitely worth setting your alarm for. Borobudur is the world’s largest Buddhist temple, and Indonesia’s most visited tourist attraction. Located on the island of Java, the temple was constructed in the 9th century, before being abandoned in the 14th century as the population converted to Islam. Protected by UNESCO, it was restored in the 1970s and later opened to the public (while still being used for religious pilgrimage).
Sunrise is an incredible time to visit. We watched as the colour of the sky changed from a rich shade of blue to purple, to pink, to orange, and then settled on a luxurious shade of gold. Sun spheres peeked through from behind the buddhas and began to illuminate details on the stone. I’d definitely recommend visiting at sunrise.
Yogyakarta is a bustling city. I really enjoyed checking out the markets which were full of beautiful flowers and exotic fruits. I also tracked down some colourful houses – so photogenic!
Prambanan Temple is a 9th Century Hindu temple located around 17km from Yogyakarta. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia. The architecture is incredible and, like Borobudur, it’s another temple that’s very well preserved.
If you base yourself in Yogyakarta, each of these temples is within easy reach. They’re very special, but in different ways, so be sure to make time to see them both.

Hi everyone !

Borobudur Temple || A Discovery Vlog || Yogyakarta
Borobudur, a Buddhist stupa in the Mahayana tradition, is the largest Buddhist monument in the world. Located on the Indonesian island of Java, 40 km (25mi) northwest of Yogyakarta, Borobudur was built around 750 AD. The magnificent temple is a three-dimensional mandala (diagram of the universe) and a visual representation of Buddhist teachings.
This famous Buddhist temple, dating from the 8th and 9th centuries, is located in central Java. It was built in three tiers: a pyramidal base with five concentric square terraces, the trunk of a cone with three circular platforms and, at the top, a monumental stupa. The walls and balustrades are decorated with fine low reliefs, covering a total surface area of 2,500 m2. Around the circular platforms are 72 openwork stupas, each containing a statue of the Buddha. The monument was restored with UNESCO's help in the 1970s.
