Cuba Vacation Travel Guide | Expedia
Cuba – Enjoy old-world architecture, famous cigars and classic cars in this long-isolated island nation. Check out Cuba’s top sights for travelers.
When ready, browse vacation packages to Cuba:
Despite being within easy reach of Florida and the Bahamas, #Cuba exists in a time and space all its own.
Explore Cuba’s capital, Havana, a city preserved by forts, a five-mile seawall, and an imposed embargo, which held back the excesses of the 20th century for over 50 years. Havana’s lure can be hard to resist, but a #vacation in Cuba can offer so much more beyond the seductive lights of its capital. In Cuba, a long sandy beach is never far away.
Sometimes it’s hard to know whether Cuba is awakening to the world, or if the world is awakening to Cuba. Whatever your politics, it's easy to admire this island nation that has proudly gone its own way. Cuba may still have one foot firmly in the past, but as the world tumbles towards tomorrow, we can be thankful for the many things it has not let go.
For now, we hope you enjoy watching this #travel #guide as much as we enjoyed making it.

Havana Cuba Tour via Cruise (4K)
See where we visited during our 2 day stay in Havana Cuba via a Holland America cruise in June 2018, while taking in the sights and sounds we experienced. As you can see in this vlog, we did our own walking tour, in addition to a horse carriage tour and one via a 1957 Chevrolet Be Air vintage car which didn't even have seat belts!
We started from the Havana cruise terminal Sierra Maestra- for a more in depth look, tips & helpful information such as money exchange, please see our Havana Cruise Port video here:
The places we visited included:
• Plaza de San Francisco (directly opposite of the cruise port)
• Plaza de Armas, the oldest Plaza of Havana where there is a statue of Carlos Manuel de Cespedes and the El Templete Temple where the city was founded in 1519
• Parque Luz Caballero where we took a 2 hour horse carriage tour
On the horse carriage hour we saw:
• Our cruise ship the Holland America Veendam
• The Russian Church called Our Lady of Kazan Orthodox Cathedral
• Parque Aracelo Iglesias
• Iglesia de Paula Catholic Church
• Revolution Plaza
• Almacenes San Jose Artisan's Market
• The Ferry Terminal that takes passengers across the canal
The ride was fine but in retrospect I would have done just a one hour tour instead of 2, as it took a while to get to Revolution Plaza via horse.
Afterwards we tried out some local Cuban food at a restaurant recommended by our Horse Carriage tour guide. For 25 CUC we ate Lobster in Cuban sauce and came with plantains, and a Mojito. The lobster was pretty good- though I believe we got overcharged because a minute after we left we saw the menu of a nearby restaurant selling the same dish for 12 CUC.
We then walked and visited:
• Plaza de la Catedral, where the impressive Catedral de la Virgen Maria is located
• Castillo de la Real Fuerza
• Cuban street art in the form of colorful graffiti and others by local artists
• Iglesia del Santo Angel Custodio church
• Museum of the Revolution
We then took a Vintage Car tour and saw:
• Maximo Gomez monument at Parque del Artires Del 71
• Tunel de la Habana
• The outdoors Military Museum
• Christ of Havana/El Cristo de La Habana
• Castillo De Los Tres Reyes Del Morro
Afterwards we walked and saw:
• Jose Marti statue at Plaza 13 de Marzo
• Victor Hugo house
• Bank of Nova Scotia building
• Hotel Ambos Mundos
• Mercaderes Street
• El Cubo Havana Modern Sewer Pumping Station
It was then back to the cruise ship for the end of day 1.
We then took a look at Havana after dark from our ship and you can see our footage in this video as well.
The next day we did our own walking tour and saw:
• Plaza Vieja (Old Town Square)
• Museum of Pharmacy Habanera
• Teniente Rey Street and a marketplace there, including a merchant selling super-cute puppies
• Teatro Marti Performing Arts Theater
• Saratoga Hotel
• El Capitolo, the former capitol building, where we took a break and did some people/car watching
• Parque de la Fraternidad/Fraternity Park
• Chinatown Gate
• Gran Teatro de La Habana/Great Theatre of Havana
• Havana Central Park where there is another statue of Jose Marti
• Gran Hotel Manzana & Cohiba Atmosphere Mall
• Granma Memorial which is an extension to the Revolution Museum
• Havana Police Headquarters Fort
• Cuba Street
• Empedrado Street
• Casa del Marques de Arcos & the Mural of Aristocrats directly opposite
• Palacio de los Capitanes Generales
We then headed back to the cruise terminal, ending our terrific 2 day visit in Havana! The architecture in Havana was very impressive, and the people were very friendly. Please feel free to comment and if you have any questions we're more than happy to answer!

CUBA - La HAVANE Visiter la Havana Vieja . Havana Voyage

After a 12 hours bumpy flight from UK we finally landed in Havana where we spent 8 days, then we took a local bus to Viñales and explored for 3 days the stunning nature, tobacco fields and wild beaches around. We decided to go south, so we traveled for 7 hours to Trinidad and we instantly fell in love with the City. One hour ride from Trinidad and we arrived to the French colonial city of Cienfuegos, which we quickly visited before coming back to the north and spending the last 4 nights in that paradise called Varadero.
This is the list of the best places you should visit if your are planning to travel to Cuba. The best things to do in Cuba to enjoy the real and most authentic Cuban atmosphere. Curious to know what you should not miss in Cuba? Vamos a empezar!

HAVANA, CUBA - If you're planning a Havana trip in 2018, my Cuba playlist could be for you! In this video we focus on New Havana and visit the following areas -
- Plaza de la Revolucion (Revolution Square) - this site of the Jose Marti Memorial and the famous Che Guevara and Fidel Castro artwork on the buildings opposite. By visiting here you can really understand more about Cuban history, in particular the Cuban Revolution and the overthrowing of the Batista government in 1959.
- Martin Luther King/Malcolm X Memorial - this is a real hidden gem which highlighted to me the struggles relating to black equality at those times.
- Coppelia Ice Cream - this is more fo a fun thing to do in Havana. Coppelia is a major ice cream chain in Cuba, no trip to Havana would be complete without a trip there in the Vedado area.
- Nuclear Missile Crisis Exhibition - this is accessible via the Nacional Hotel de Cuba and is free to enter, thoroughly interesting and informative, plus you can walk through the nuclear bunker!
Check out my Cuba playlist for videos from elsewhere in Havana, some hints & tips and some honest opinions!
I hope you enjoy your Havana trip!

Digging for Vinyl Records in Havana Cuba
In March of 2017 I went to visit Cuba (for the very first time). Of course as during any trip I just had to make time for some crate digging. One thing I didn't know was that finding vinyl records in Cuba was no easy task.
Before the trip I was able to find out there is 1 single record store in the whole country. Seriosha's Record Shop is located in Havana and I decided to pay them a visit.
As I dug through a bunch of damaged records and fought off the cockroaches, I managed to find a few interesting pieces. Unfortunately the prices were rather high for such poor condition LPs.
Eventually I stumbled upon another independent sellers who sells records and books out of his backyard.
In short, yes you can dig vinyl records in Cuba.

Love To Discover: Cuba: Havana: Rum Museum
A nice tour of the former Havana Club Rum distillery which takes you through the process and the past of the rum industry in Cuba. Tour guides in multiple languages and worth a trip through. Nice bar at the end to finish off with some tasting as well as a well stocked shop to pick up some rum to take home with you.
Discover Havana, Cuba 2019: Disco, Malecon & More (PART 2)
Welcome to part 2 of our Havana, Cuba Travel Guide video. In this vlog, we explore Havana Vieja including La Plaza Vieja, La Plaza de la Catedral and Iglesia de San Angel. We also explored Barrio Chino (China Town) and walked along the Malecon.
We went to two clubs: Bar Asturias and La Gruta. The cover for Bar Asturias is 10 CUC which includes entrance to the club and 4 drinks of your choice. It's a small venue but it's the perfect place to meet locals and enjoy real Cuban reggaeton music. The cover for La Gruta is 3 CUC per person plus 2 CUC to check in your bag. On Monday, it was Cuban salsa night but when we went on Saturday, they played a mix of Cuban reggaeton music.
This was shot using the Canon 80d and GoPro Hero 5 Black.
