FALLS OF FOYERS,SCOTLAND
The Fall of Foyers (Scottish Gaelic: Eas na Smùide, meaning the smoking falls) is a waterfall on the River Foyers, which feeds Loch Ness, in Highland, Scotland, United Kingdom.
The waterfall has a fine cascade.having a fall of 165 feet. It is located on the lower portion of the River Foyers at grid reference NH497203. The river enters Loch Ness on the East side, North-East of Fort Augustus.
This waterfall influenced Robert Addams to write a paper in 1834 about the motion aftereffect.
The flow over the falls has been much reduced since 1895 when North British Aluminium Company built an aluminium smelting plant on the shore of Loch Ness which was powered by electricity generated by the river. Artist Mary Rose Hill Burton, who was active in the unsuccessful resistance against the smelting plant, made many drawings and paintings of the falls before the plant was built, to capture the landscape before it was lost.

Kims walk about in DRUMNADROCHIT.
It was a lovely place with lots of views and lots of fresh air and quietness, most of the time. The people were very nice too. Shame the weather didn't see fit to shine on us all the time. But we both caught some sun, so that can't be bad for a few days away. The films went down very well and the other ones we saw were very good. We all have our favourites. One of my favourites was called Speed Date and had no words in it at all but the camera worked and faces of the actor's gave you everything you needed.
Thank you for watching.

Drumnadrochit is a village on the western shore of Loch Ness, a long, narrow lake in the Scottish Highlands that’s supposedly home to the Loch Ness Monster. The Nessieland center celebrates the legendary beast with family-friendly exhibits and loch cruises. Ruined Urquhart Castle overlooks the lake just east of the village center. To the west, wooded Glen Urquhart and Glen Affric offer horse-riding and hiking trails.
Drumnadrochit is a village in the Highland local government council area of Scotland, lying on the west shore of Loch Ness, at the foot of Glen Urquhart. There are several buses a day that pass through Drumnadrochit, notably the No 17 between Drum and Inverness bus station. Buses are less frequent outside the summer season, especially on a Sunday.
The village is popular with tourists and there are three larger hotels in (or close to) the village, two smaller inns (the Ben Leva Hotel and Fiddler's Rest) and a cosy hostel (the Loch Ness Backpackers Lodge). Attractions include Nessieland, a Nessie themed exhibition about the Loch Ness Monster, a Loch Ness Exhibition and nearby Urquhart Castle, one of the most visited sites managed by Historic Scotland.
Drumnadrochit hosts the Glenurquhart Highland Games at the end of August each year. A winter event, Drums and Rockets, has also taken place in recent years.[6] The community hosts a Bonfire Night fireworks display around the 5th of November. Agriculture and forestry are also major local employers. Drumnadrochit is also the home of the Loch Ness Brewery, a microbrewery launched in 2011 with considerable early success.
