148' feet deep U.S.S. Emmons Wreck SCUBA Dive Okinawa Japan GoPro Hero 2 HD
The U.S.S. Emmons was an American warship that was hit by five kamikaze planes in April 1945 and later sank. She was discovered in 2001 and is now open to divers. The wreck of the Emmons lies off northern Okinawa Japan, beyond Nago at Kouri Island in 148 feet of water. 57 sailors died defending her and the wreck is classified as a war grave, therefore no wreck penetration is allowed. This dive was done on one aluminum 80 tank. Video was shot with my GoPro Hero 2 in a backscatter glass housing. Hit like if you enjoyed, and thanks for watching.

Explore Okinawa Ocean: Diving
[Explore Okinawa Ocean]
In the 1980s, Yonaguni Monument was found in Yonaguni Island which is the westernmost island in Japan.
Even now, there is debate about whether the site is natural or a man-made artifact. We interviewed Kihachiro Aratake,
a discoverer of the site, about the fascination of diving at the Yonaguni underwater.
[Locations]
-Underwater ruins
The underwater ruins of Yonaguni Island is a sunken structure located 100 meters off the coast of Arakawabana, on the southern shore of the island. A reef spanning more than 50 meters east and west, 150 meters north and south, and 25 to 26 meters high has patios, stairs, and ditches that look like gutters which seem to be fabricated by hand, making it look like a ruin. Although various investigations are being conducted, they have not yet reached a conclusion whether it’s manmade or was created by nature. If it’s indeed artificial, the distribution of plants and animals as well as stalactite signifies that it’s from over 10,000 years ago, making it the world’s oldest ancient ruin.
It’s a famous diving spot, but recently, it can be seen from above sea in a glass bottom boat.

Gorilla Chop on Motobu peninsula is a great dive & snorkel site. It has a nice new parking lot and facilities. The entrance is extremely easy and when other sites are too rough its protective cove makes the drive North worthwhile.

Aharen Beach - Tokashiki - Okinawa - Ren Travel Guide Travel Video

Location: Aharen Beach - Tokashiki Island - Okinawa - Japan
Tokashiki Island (渡嘉敷島, Tokashiki-jima) is the largest of the Kerama Islands. Although slightly lagging behind Zamami's popularity, Tokashiki offers several nice beaches while its interior is mostly covered by forested hills and offers a few hiking trails and observation decks.
Aharen Beach
Aharen Beach is the bigger of island's two main beaches, located about 4.5 kilometers south of Tokashiki Port. The white sand beach draws sunbathers, and the waters are separated into swimming and snorkeling zones. Rental shops, beach huts, restaurants, and toilet and shower facilities can be found near the beach, and various tours are available from tour companies and accommodations nearby. Next to the beach is the Kubandaki Observatory with views of the surrounding coastline.

This is a video I made of a Japan trip from Okinawa to Hokkaido! The video is made in the order the trip was done. I will leave here some details of the trip and the video!
The trip started in Tokyo 27th of march 2017 for 71 days.
My dream always was to travel Japan, but as I grew older, the way I wanted to know Japan changed a lot. First I just wanted to go there and see anything, then I wanted to see some special things, and then I started to dream about a South to North trip, I wanted to see all the different places of Japan because I heard from everyone about Kyoto and Tokyo all the time, but when I started researching I understood that there was A LOT more to see than just cities. I am a chef/baker, so I really wanted to try as many things as I could. I do agriculture, I like to camp, I like to walk in the woods, so I visited a lot of places that were really far away from the main tourist attractions, as well as many touristy places because some of them are worth it. We traveled by, plane, ferry, cargo ship, taxi, bus, bike, foot and hitchhiking. We worked in farms for 22 days along the way and got to live with some very special people for some days.
Special thanks to Kayo Kamo, Café Cockapoo, Miyazaki!! and Eiji and Mayumi in Ida!!!
The biggest adventure was getting to Yakushima. From Kagoshima station 1 hour and a half bus to the dock, 12 hours ferry in the night with a layover. Bus 1 hour into the forests from the docks of Yakushima, 7 hour walk up the mountain to see Jomon Sugi, a 7000 year old tree. 6 hours walk down the mountain to take a bus back to town and sleep, a well deserved sleep. It was a dream come true to be in a cargo ship in the morning after sleeping and looking at the Island getting bigger as you close in. Nature and energy in every inch of the forests of this beautiful place.
Next I will put a list of some of the places and cities we visited:
Narita, Tokio, Naha and Nago (Okinawa), Tokashiki (Okinawa, Islas Kerama), Kagoshima, Yakushima, Kirishima, Yoshinomotocho, Miyakonojo, Miyazaki, Udo, Takachiho, Amanoiwato, Kumamoto, Yamaguchi, Akiyoshidai, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Nishiawakura, Tottori, Onomichi-Imabari (Shimanami Kaido), Himeji, Kyoto, Takao, Hikone, Kanazawa, Takayama, Shirakawago, Toyama, Kurobe, Nagano, Iida, Matsumoto, Nikko, Sendai, Yamadera, Onuma, Sapporo, Tokio, Kamakura, Enoshima, Yokohama, Kawaguchiko, Mitaka.
I am sorry that at the end of the video in the parts of Tohoku and Hokkaido there isn’t much material, by the time we got to Sendai we were late for the schedule we had planned and in Hokkaido we were out of season for most of the things to see and do there and everything was very very far away by train. I will do another trip for Hokkaido, Tohoku and Shikoku.

Seaglass Beach Okinawa - Photographing Okinawa
Seaglass Beach in Okinawa is tucked away on the East Coast just North of the town of Kin. As it's name suggests it's one of the leading places in Okinawa to find fragments of weathered glass and china, especially after storms have passed. Quite for what reason this is has yet to be discovered.
Other than this unique claim it also happens to be a very picturesque beach with lots of rocky outcrops. These features scream for long exposure photography as the ocean interacts with them.
This is my account of a recent photoshoot where I started at Seaglass Beach and finished at another location just North of that called Kayo Beach.
Oh, and if you're a music lover, watch out for the crazy interlude between the locations, it's pretty wild.
