Ultimate Travel Guide // St.Croix, USVI - hidden gem of Caribbean Americas // Christiansted
In this Episode our family got to the island of St.Croix, USVI. The first destination of ours was the old historic town of Christiansted, - the lively, bustling heart of the island. St.Croix is reach in history, charming and less crowded than other US Virgin Islands as it lays in splendid isolation, about 40 miles, from other Virgin Islands. The island almost completely surrounded by a coral reef barrier system and known by diving enthusiasts as an underrated place for diving!
Personally, for me it was pretty difficult to make this video as we had spent quite a long time on the island discovering it on land and underwater. We love so much about the island with its amazing the friendliest atmosphere, charming historical oblique and modern life, that it makes difficult to choose what to show... than I decided that this is our traveling diary and I’m not a professional film maker... I’ll just show you a little of everything! ;))
In this Episode you will find us:

8:00-2:18 - wandering around historic district, enjoying peaceful and friendly vibes of old town, the feel given by charming courtyards, shaded walkways and stone arches. There are a lot of points of interest on the way, historical ruins and old churches. St.Croix is famed by its artists and we will be visiting couple of art galleries on the way. Also you will find many interesting small boutiques with assortment of truly unique goods, handmade jewelry and so on for duty free prices. And this is only a brief glimpse of the old town!
12:27-14:59 - Chilling by the white sandy beach of Buck Island Reef National Monument and snorkeling its sparkling clear turquoise water, discovering variety of rich marine life by following underwater marked trail;

Shark tourism is a form of eco-tourism rooted in having communities appreciate that local shark species are more valuable alive than dead. Instead of opting for a one time economic benefit of harvesting sharks for their body parts, communities are made to assist interested tourists who may want to see live sharks. Many divers and people are involved in interest groups such as the late iDive Sharks Network[1] that aim to celebrate and promote safe and responsible shark diving activities.[2] Another diver and marine biologist who focuses on shark conservation and promotes this form of ecotourism is Ocean Ramsey, who operates a company called One Ocean Diving out of Hawaii. Her program, just like many others, focuses on educating the public about these animals and allowing guests to get a first hand experience with them. This personal connection helps the general public realize their significance and in return want to help them.[

Caribbean | US Virgin Islands | St Thomas (America's Caribbean)
St. Thomas was the 7th port of call on our Southern Caribbean cruise aboard Carnival Glory. The island is a US territory, and by this virtue has strong American feel to the island- hence the US Virgin Island are often collectively termed as 'America's Caribbean'.
We booked ourselves onto the Discover SCUBA excursion offered by Carnival whereby we were taken to Coki Beach to undergo basic PADI training in order for us to dive on a coral reef (Max depth 40 feet / 12.1 meters). If you haven't been Scuba diving before, then I would definetely recommend trying it. The reef in this case was in very good condition, so much so the instructor/guide informed us that touching the coral was prohibited- the conservation efforts are obviously working. Its a shame with my underwater GoPro footage that I did not have a light as below 10 meters you loose the colour red from the light spectrum which can make some of the corals seem dull / odd colours. Next time I do this sort of filming- I'll invest in an underwater light!
After our scuba diving experience we decided to take a trip up to Paradise Point, since on a previous trip to St. Thomas we were unable to do so due to a fire at the the cable car station! This time though, everything was working and though the tickets were quite expensive (Not much change out of $20 each!) The view from the top was spectacular, and there was a bar/restaurant from which you could sit back, relax and enjoy the view. A word of advice if arriving on a Carnival cruise- buy your cable car tickets onboard as they proved to be cheaper on the ship than they were at the cable car station itself.
St. Thomas is definetely one of the most cosmopolitan and more up to date islands we visited, probably as a result of it being a US territory. Its yet another place I'd like to visit again, though I think we'll finish my scuba qualification first so that we can take advantage of the other dive sites around the island.

Got lost IntoTheBlue//Frederiksted, St.Croix//Don’t miss it in US Virgin Islands
After spending some beautiful time enjoying fascinating historical oblique of the wonderful town of Christiansted as well as warming welcome of local people, we arrived to Frederiksted, the second largest town in St.Croix, USVI.
Frederiksted is located on the west cost of the island. It was established in 1751 and was originally protected by Fort Frederik, which dates back to 1700.
Locals always refer to Frederiksted as a “freedom city” as ...
The town was destroyed by fire in 1878 as a result of a labor revolt. It was later restored during the Victorian era. Now it looks pretty charming and a way laidback town with some of historical sites, parks and small shops along the narrow streets.
Frankly speaking, what attracts people in St.Croix is a terrific diving! St.Croix is known by diving enthusiasts as a fantastic and underrated place to dive! The island is almost completely surrounded by a barrier reef. It offers amazing beauty and variety below sea level as well as above. Nowhere else in the Caribbean can you dive a wreck, wall, pier and reef all in one day! So, frankly speaking, we got lost into the Blue, diving every day for couple months, and resurfaced only to eat dinner, to get our tanks refilled and go to celebrate some special occasions on the island. Generally, the town is very quiet and sleepy but what they can do very well is to celebrate!
In this Episode you will see us:
1:05-1:42 - Alena’s sailing song ????⛵️
1:42-4:09 - Quick glance at historical district and many laughs celebrating Easter ????
4:09-5:52 - Diving under the famous Pier
5:52-13:18 - Meeting Jenny Keith - don’t miss that part, she’s amazing!
13:53-14:40 - Cruise ship day
14:47-17:10 - Taekwando classes with King Kobra - funny part!
17:17-end Sunset party on the beach and - Huray! - fabulous fireworks which we admired from our own yacht, absolutely astonishing experience ????
