LIVING IN MANAGUA NICARAGUA 2018 - Mercado Mayoreo Market
A vlog about living in Managua Nicaragua 2018 and diving deep into the Mercado Mayoreo Market. Managua is always a fun place to visit and Managua Nicaragua 2018 is no different.
I've been visiting / living in Managua for years now and on this day Harold and I are off to Mayoreo Market to get something but it's mainly closed so we drive around behind the scenes and show you a little more about what Mercado Mayoreo Market is all about in Managua Nicaragua.
When living in Managua or living in Nicaragua, everyday isn't just about the things to do in Managua or things to do in Nicaragua. It's about the daily nuances of life like going shopping at the market and having your friend's wife grill some pork for dinner.
There are lots of places to shopping in Managua, Nicaragua. There are lots of markets in Managua. The main markets in Managua are Oriental Market, Huembes Market and Mayoreo Market. I'm not a huge fan of Mayoreo Market except it's where we ship stuff to the Corn Islands.
I am a fan of Managua, Nicaragua though as it's a fascinating city with lots happening.

NICARAGUA: GOVERNMENT MANAGE TO DELAY US IMMIGRATION LAW
Spanish/Nat
Nicaragua's government has managed to delay a U-S immigration law which would end up with the deportation of thousands of Nicaraguan immigrants living in the U-S.
President Arnoldo Aleman said his foreign minister Emilio Alvarez and U-S Attorney General Janet Reno agreed to make the law effective from June instead of April 1st.
Nicaraguan authorities claim a massive deportation will create serious social and economic problems.
The U-S government agreed to delay until June a new tough immigration law that could affect some 45-thousand Nicaraguan immigrants.
The law was due to come in to effect on April 1st.
Nicaraguan President Arnoldo Aleman gave the good news Monday at a news conference.
Foreign Minister Emilio Alvarez Montalvan and U-S Attorney General Janet Reno reached an agreement in Washington Monday.
The Foreign Minister also requested that the U-S grant resident status to those Nicaraguan immigrants who have lived in the states for more than seven years.
SOUNDBITE: (Spanish)
(The foreign minister) told us the acceptance and the compromise on the part of the U- S authorities to maintain the revision programme for Nicaraguans until July and also the Nicaraguan government was telling the U-S that we didn't need -- we didn't want, sorry -- for our compatriots a temporary status. For those Nicaraguan who fulfilled the legal demands of seven years, good behaviour and separation of their families, we wanted a definitive status. Mrs Reno accepted with satisfaction.
SUPER CAPTION: Arnoldo Aleman, Nicaraguan President
Some 45-thousand Nicaraguans live in the U-S illegally, mostly in South Florida.
They went to the U-S to escape the civil war between the leftist Sandinistas and the Contra rebels.
The Nicaraguan government fears that a massive deportation would bring severe social and economic problems to the country.
SOUNDBITE: (Spanish)
This (news) is going to give thousands of Nicaraguans who live here in our country and whose relatives (in the U-S) support them, peace of mind.
SUPER CAPTION: Arnoldo Aleman, Nicaraguan President
Immigrants living in the U-S send their relatives in Nicaragua nearly 40 (m) million U-S dollars a year.
This is an important help for unemployed Nicaraguans -- currently 60 percent of the work force.
Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the region.
