Tuesday, November 2, 2010
The human species is limited by terrestrial adaptations and
dependence on a few senses to understand its interactions with the environment.
As part of the Canada Ocean Lecture Series, this presentation will explore some of the deep places in our ocean to reveal some unknown wonders. It will use pictures and film clips from expeditions to hot vents, subsea volcanoes, and deep into Canadian oceans to illustrate the beauty and the extraordinary
dynamics of ecosystems that we never see.

Coral Spawn in the Cayman Islands
The annual coral spawning in the Cayman Islands usually occurs in late August or early September a few days after the full moon. One of Ocean Frontiers founders, Stephen Broadbelt along with Dr. Alex Mustard have created a formula that is able to predict within minutes when certain species are going to spawn. It is a truly spectacular display for those people lucky enough to witness it.

Ningaloo Reef - Google Invited Me Snorkelling
Google Australia started underwater Street View back in 2012, since then they have uploaded 360 degree underwater images from all over the world. But up until now the Ningaloo Reef off the Western Australian coastline has been uncharted so to speak.
Google Australia invited me to tag along with the dive team as they capture the Ningaloo Reef for Google Street View, what an awesome day ????.

Scuba Diving | Bloody Bay Wall, Little Cayman, Cayman Islands, Caribbean | Caribbean
Cinematography bye Frans de Backer
You will find the Cayman Islands on any serious list of top ten dive sites in the world & for many the number one dive site in the Caribbean. Grand Cayman is the largest of the three Cayman Islands which are completed with its smaller sisters Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.
For those who really want to get away from it all and experience pristine, unspoiled reefs and especially wall dives there is no better place to scuba dive than Bloody Bay Wall in Little Cayman.
