“We were told we were a finalist a few months ago which in itself was brilliant news,” explains Claire Birch who runs Doddington Hall alongside her husband James. “Our Farm Shop was voted Best Newcomer Farm Shop of the Year in 2011 so we have always wanted to get the same recognition for our Restaurant. Knowing that our fellow FARMA members believe passionately about quality and local food with maximum provenance - as we do – we knew the standards would be high.”
Doddington Hall Garden part 1/2
I went to Doddington Hall Gardens today and decided to video some of it.
Doddington Hall Garden
Doddington Hall is an Elizabethan mansion complete with walled courtyards and a gabled gatehouse. It is located in the village of Doddington, to the west of the city of Lincoln in Lincolnshire, England.
Clarinet Quintet in A, K. 581
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Quintet in A major for Clarinet and Strings, K. 581, was written in 1789 for the clarinetist Anton Stadler. Though originally written for basset clarinet, it is almost always played on a clarinet in A or B-flat. It was Mozart's only completed clarinet quintet, and is one of the earliest and best-known works written especially for the instrument: it remains to this day one of the most admired of the composer's works. The quintet is sometimes referred to as the Stadler Quintet; Mozart so described it in a letter of April 1790.

Doddington Hall & Gardens - Iris Week
For many, the gardens at Doddington are just as spectacular as the Hall itself. Remaining faithful to the original Elizabethan layout, mellow walls provide the framework for the formal East Front and West Gardens. Beyond the West Gardens begin the lovingly restored Wild Gardens.
Don't miss Iris Week each May: enjoy the enchanting beauty of the famous Doddington Iris display in the romantic setting of Doddington Hall's Walled West Garden.
The irises rise above box-edged parterres enabling the petals to catch the afternoon sun. This ornamental plant with its popular sword-shaped petals has been grown at Doddington for over thirty years.
