Cristiano Ronaldo throws first pitch at Dodgers-Yankees baseball game
Cristiano Ronaldo was the star of the Major League Baseball regular league match in which the Los Angeles Dodgers faced the New York Yankees. The Real Madrid forward threw the ceremonial first pitch of the game at the Dodger Stadium, where his team will play their second preseason match on Sunday at 02:00. Prior to the honour, he spoke with former Lakers basketball player Magic Johnson and actor Samuel L. Jackson, sent footballs into the public attending the match and was interviewed by local media. His statements were shown live on the stadium screens. Dodgers batter Yaseil Puig, a Cuban player who is America's latest baseball sensation, acted as master of ceremonies for Ronaldo, offering him a shirt of the local team with the Portuguese forward's name and the number he usually wears in Real Madrid, and a baseball bat with his signature. In return, Cristiano Ronaldo handed him a football with his signature.

Priyanka Chopra + Cristiano Ronaldo at Dodger Stadium Los Angeles - Real Madrid vs Everton
(This video continues here:
Priyanka Chopra did the coin flip for the Guinness International Champions Cup soccer match at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles California on August 3, 2013, where Real Madrid played Everton. Cristiano Ronaldo is also shown in the beginning of the video while Priyanka is walking onto the field and being introduced by the public address announcer (he's also shown briefly near the end of the video).
UPDATE 8-6-2013: As I was reading through some of the comments here, and some of the comments I deleted, I realized that there seems to be a basic cultural misunderstanding here. In the United States, it's normal to have a celebrity or famous person on the field at the start of a sporting event to perform some ceremonial function. The celebrity is sometimes a singer, sometimes an actor, a pro athlete from another sport, Miss World, Olympic Gold Medalist, Hero Firefighter, Veteran, etc. At baseball games, the celebrities throw a pitch (called a ceremonial first pitch). At American Football games, they flip a coin. There is almost always a celebrity there to sing the National Anthem also. I'm sure it's beneficial to both the celebrity, and to the team and sport. The fans in the United States love it, and expect this kind of extra entertainment at every sporting event. Priyanka did not interrupt, or interfere with this event, or anything like that -- she was invited by the event's sponsor to be there. Also, her song Exotic is the official song of this Guinness International Champions Cup soccer tournament. And one final thing - take a look at the video on the Real Madrid F.C. official YouTube Channel of Ronaldo at Dodger Stadium three nights before this throwing the ceremonial first pitch among other things. We love this type of extra entertainment at our sporting events here in the U.S., and we loved having Priyanka here at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California. I hope the Dodgers invite her back to sing before a game this year.

Dodger Stadium $100 Million Renovation Aerial Update Nov '19
One month after the baseball season has ended, renovation has started on $100 million in improvements to Dodger Stadium.
Creation of Centerfield Plaza: The new Centerfield Plaza will create a stadium front door with almost two acres of unique food offerings, entertainment and kids areas, retail locations, sponsor activations, more social and standing room areas and greater access for those with special needs. A new kids play area will be constructed just beyond the wall in straight-away centerfield, and fans will be able to enjoy the game from above of a newly-constructed batters eye wall. The new Centerfield Plaza will pay homage to Dodger history with statues and a permanent home for the Legends of Dodger Baseball plaques..
Pavilion Renovations: Renovations to the Left and Right Field Pavilions will include new restrooms, enclosed bars with views into the bullpen, the creation of standing room areas at the top of each pavilion, enhanced ADA seating and home run seats just beyond the outfield wall.
Sandy Koufax Statue: The Dodgers will honor Hall of Fame left-handed pitcher Sandy Koufax with a statue, the second at Dodger Stadium following the dedication of the Jackie Robinson statue in 2017. Both statues will reside in the Centerfield Plaza, as the Robinson statue will be re-located from the Left Field Reserve.
New Elevators and Bridges: Elevators are currently under construction in the Right and Left Field Plazas to help move fans easily to and from this new Centerfield Plaza. Additionally, bridges will be constructed to connect the new pavilion standing room decks to the rest of the stadium for a 360-degree connection around the park's perimeter. These new elevators and bridges will also provide easier access to the Dodger Stadium Express stop in Lot G through the Centerfield Plaza.
New Sound System: A new sound system will replace the current speaker tower and provide an enhanced audio experience to fans on all levels of the ballpark with more directed sound inside the stadium.
