Dingo INSIDE the dog fence near Coober Pedy
After a 2300km drive, mostly outside of the famous dingo fence, I ran into this dingo INSIDE the fence near Coober Pedy.
The great fence
Stretching from the Nullarbor Plain and running for 5,500 kilometres, Australia's dog fence is the longest barrier ever built. It's there to keep dingoes out of the pastoral zones in the south-eastern part of the continent. The fence runs through some of the most arid and inhospitable parts of the outback, but the past few wet years have brought extra challenges to the men responsible for its upkeep. Tim Lee journeyed to far western Queensland to meet two of those men.

Coober Pedy: Moon Trip
We took a drive out to the Moon Plain, just passed the Dog Fence on the road to Oodnadatta heading out of Coober Pedy. The Dog Fence runs 5600km from Ceduna SA up to Surfer's Paradise QLD. The Moon Plain has been a film site for heaps of movies, including Mad Max.
There were things in we could see on the ground beside the road glinting in the sun. Turns out they were chunks of gypsum crystal.

This was in July 2015, in central South Australia. Exploring along the dog fence northeast of Coober Pedy, in an area called The Moonplain due to its barrenness. A bit of dust on the brakes was the only result.
I'm not sure why the sound is so crappy. Maybe it was from all the vibration.
Lots of sci-fi movies have been shot out here, including Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Pitch Black.
