Flathead Sled Dog Days is the premiere dog mushing event in Montana. Located in the Flathead valley and an official part of the Whitefish Winter Carnival, Flathead Sled Dog Days draws dog mushing racers from across the United States and Canada.

If you've always been fascinated by the Iditarod and Yukon Quest, check out Flathead Sled Dog Days. Spectators come from the Flathead Valley from places like Whitefish, Kalispell, Kyla, Olney, Striker, Eureka, etc. People also come from across the country and from other countries to witness the event. Helicopter and Dog Sledding on a Glacier in Alaska - Seward
There are some glaciers you can drive to, but very few that you can stroll to. Just 15 miles from Seward—where many cruises embark and disembark—Exit Glacier is one of the most popular road-accessible glaciers in the state. In fact, you can walk almost right up to the face of it in 30 minutes, by way of the Edge of the Glacier Trail.
Exit Glacier is not huge, but it looks big up close, so it makes a great place for photos. It’s also a good spot to learn about glacial movement, since it’s receding quickly; there's even a guide marking its recession over the past 120 years.
The well-developed trails here have good footing and interpretive signs, explaining the return of plant life after the ice. There’s also a self-guided audio tour on The Alaska App, narrated by the Park Service’s chief interpretive ranger.
If you’re looking for more of an adventure, take the Harding Icefield Trail, which climbs 3,500 feet in 4 miles, and gives great views of the glacier. There are also guided hikes on the glacier, if you want to strap on crampons and walk on the ice.

This video was recorded in Denali National Park and Preserve. Denali National Park and Preserve is located in Interior Alaska, centered on Mount Denali, the highest mountain in North America. The park and contiguous preserve encompasses more than 6 million acres (24,500 km2). The national preserve is 1,334,200 acres (5,430 km2). On December 2, 1980, a 2,146,580 acre (8,687 km2) Denali Wilderness was established within the park. Denali's landscape is a mix of forest at the lowest elevations, including deciduous taiga. The preserve is also home to tundra at middle elevations, and glaciers, rock, and snow at the highest elevations. The longest glacier is the Kahiltna Glacier. The park received 587,412 recreational visitors in 2016. Wintertime activities includes dog-sledding, cross-country skiing, and snowmachining.

I lived in Big Sky for 15 weeks during my Work and Travel USA program(12/2016 to 03/2017)!
I had the chance to take a 2 hours horseback ride, do a snowmobile tour at the Yellowstone National Park, go to Ousel Falls, see wildlife, snowboard and dog sled up in the resort.

Dogsled Rides at the Omni Mount Washington in NH with Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel
Today we brought nearly 50 sled dogs to the Omni Mount Washington in Bretton Woods, NH, there was just enough snow to break out the traditional dogsleds. Here's a quick video of the sled dogs in the staging area and three teams taking off one after another & guests of the hotel going on dogsled rides! The dogs were so excited to take off that you can barely hear me over the excited barking & howling!

OGV Off Grid Venture - Overland to Alaska with Dogs and Bears - National Forest Dispersed Camping
Welcome to my channel. To kick it off, here's a compilation of my overland adventure with my dogs Ice and Skye, 8000+ miles from California to Alaska in the summer of 2018. Took us through every state on the west coast visiting some of the most beautiful environments I've ever scene and had one of the greatest adventures of my life. Traveled through Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, British Columbia to Alaska and back down through Oregon to Southern California.
Purchased the discover pass and dispersed camped in our awesome National Forests. This was my first time doing a road trip this big let alone with my dogs and it went great! The dogs helped keep me safe (chased away bears twice) and were the best of companions on the journey. Would love to help anyone with questions they have about it.
Was able to find some great locations by browsing overland forums on Google, exploring with offline maps using the Here app, and even talking to rangers at a station helped me find one of my favorite areas in Idaho.
Custom bug netting the camper shell windows was a crucial victory as well as the blackout curtains. Used hockey tape and Velcro with super glue to a roll of window netting I cut to make perfectly sealed windows. A fold up mattress from Costco and the Lifetime 10 day cooler from Walmart impressed me as well. Adding the roof rack lights and bumper light bar came in real handy for spotting wildlife and avoiding rough spots off-road.
Since then I've added 35 tires and purchased a 30+acre forest land and cabin up in Washington to be my home away from home for future adventures. Posted a video of the adventure here if you are interested I will also be posting future videos to Off Grid Venture this summer.
