Doi Tung Royal Villa and Mae Fah Luang Garden is a place where true serenity meets captivating views. Truly a Twofer, two amazing places in one spot. They are located on the slopes of Doi Tung Mountain.
All the flowers and plants are grown and nurtured by the local villagers. Mae Fah Luang Garden had also won the Pacific Asia Tourism Association (PATA) Award for Tourist Site Development in 1993.
Going up to the Royal Villa, which was the residence of the Princess Mother Srinakarindra. This beautiful villa is constructed in lanna swiss design architecture with a mixture of concrete and different wood slabs. The interior design exudes graceful, elegance, minimalist and functionality.

Doi Tung (ดอยตุง) is a mountain in the Thai highlands of Chiang Rai Province, Thailand.
Doi Tung Royal Villa
The Doi Tung royal villa, former residence of the princess mother Srinagarindra is also high up on the hill.
Thanks to the princess mother's interest and encouragement, the hills were reforested.She was also instrumental in fighting against the opium trade, as a result the local hilltribes stopped growing poppies and began to grow other crops.
The royal villa was originally built as a summer residence for the princess mother and now houses a museum and displaying her work to improve the life quality of local tribal people.
The Mae Fah Luang Gardens are a botanical park on the slopes below the royal villa. Flowers and plants grow among rock formations.
The royal residence of HRH the late Princess Mother formerly served as her base of operations to monitor the work progress at the Doi Tung Development Project. It has since been transformed into a symbol of the Princess Mother's commitment to improving the local people's quality of life.

Doi Tung Lodge is located in the area that once served as the office and accommodation of the 31st Watershed Conservation Unit of the Royal Forest Department. During the early days of the Doi Tung Development Project, the late Princess Mother would spend months at the Doi Tung Royal Villa to oversee the operation of the Project. Occasionally, His Majesty the King and other memb ers of the royal family would pay her a visit. A new villa was built in the area to accommodate the royal entourage and employees of the Project.
