13. De-Stress in Cres
The island of Cres is the biggest island by size in the Adriatic and is located in the northern part of the Gulf of Kvarner. The island's coastline, 248 km long, is indented; its western and southern part have a plenty of bays and pebbly beaches while the northern and eastern part are characterized with steep and rough rocks.
12. Ferry Fun in the Adriatic
From short jaunts between nearby islands to overnight rides along the length of the Croatian coast, sea travel is a great and inexpensive way to see the Croatian side of the Adriatic. Take in the stunning coastline as you whiz past some of the country's 1244 islands.
11. The Soul of Split
The city was originally built around the Diocletian palace (a palace/fort built for the retired Roman emperor Diocletian) where the locals sought refuge centuries ago. Wandering the historic centre of Split you can still clearly see the Roman walls, squares, and temples.
10. Blue Magic on Bisevo
On Bisevos's steep shores there are many caves, the most famous being the Blue Cave. It has been accessible since 1884, and approach to the cave is only possible by boat. Around 10 to 13 o'clock sunbeams that penetrate through the submarine opening in the Blue Cave, reflect from the white bottom floor and colour the cave in blue and objects in the water in silver.
9. Hike & Climb Paklenica
The Paklenica karst river canyon is a national park in Croatia. It is located in Starigrad, northern Dalmatia, at the southern slopes of Velebit mountain, not far from Zadar. It has two canyons: Mala (Small) and Velika (Big) Paklenica. Today there is no water flowing throughout Mala Paklenica.
8. Pastries & Ice Cream
Croatia is a superior spot to indulge your sweet tooth. You absolutely must not miss the slastičarna s (pastry shops) found in towns and villages across the country. Indulge in the Austrian-style creamy cakes, the very local kremšnites (custard pies) and homemade strudels.
7. Wine & Dine in Istria
La dolce vita reigns supreme in Istria, Croatia's top foodie destination. The seafood, truffles, wild asparagus and a rare breed of Istrian beef called boškarin all stand out, as do myriad regional specialities and award-winning olive oils and wines by local small producers.
6. Party-Happy Hvar
Gently rolling hills painted a brilliant purple by the fertile flowers, lush vineyards nestling at the foot of ragged mountains, gorgeous beaches with tiny inlets and secluded coves, luscious restaurants, boutiques, and a vibrant nightlife amidst the medieval streets of Hvar Town are just a few of the treats to enjoy on this dream of an island.
5. Hit the Waves in Bol
Bol is a town on the island of Brac in Dalmatia. Situated in a secluded place on the southern coast of the island, Bol is the oldest town of Brac and one of the most famous seaside resorts of the Adriatic. Enjoy diving, windsurfing, water sports (tubes and banana) and Bol beaches.
4. Marvel at Mljet
The island of Mljet is one of the larger islands off the coast of Southern Croatia. Although many people live on the island, mainly in the port of Sobra on the east end, the west end port of Polače holds the entrance to the national park of Mljet.
3. Coffee Fix in Zagreb
Zagreb is a vibrant city of around 800,000 people (metropolitan area: 1,200,000). The city boasts a charming medieval 'old city' with architecture and cobbled streets reminiscent of Vienna, Budapest, Prague and other Central-European capitals.
2. All That Is Dubrovnik
Today Dubrovnik is the proudest feather in Croatia's tourist cap, an elite destination and one of the most beautiful towns in the Mediterranean. Dubrovnik used to be an independent republic, surviving mostly on trade. It managed to survive many centuries, with constant threats to its territory, particularly from the mighty Ottoman Empire and Venice.
1. Plitvice Paradise
Plitvice National Park in Croatia is considered to be one of the most beautiful natural sights in Europe. Due to its natural beauty and significance, this system of 16 interlinked lakes and a large forest complex around it were set aside as a national park in 1949. In 1979 the park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Our visit Zagreb travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide (Croatian), top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day including visiting churches, parks, the old town, quirky neighborhoods, museums and a hockey game. 10 Things to do in Zagreb, Croatia Travel Guide Video Transcript:
Our travels in Croatia brought us to Zagreb known for its lively street markets, vast green spaces, and varied architecture that spans numerous movements, we reached the capital and hit the ground running. In this video we’re going to show you some fun things to do in Zagreb, as well as share our favourite place for sampling the most delicious truffle dishes:
From the main square you have the Flower Market, and if you head up the steps, that leads to Zagreb’s Central Market.
Zagreb Cathedral is one the city’s main landmarks. This is the largest sacral building in the Gothic style southeast of the Alps, and it’s pretty easy to spot the spires wherever you are in the city.
Our walk through the Upper Town eventually lead us to Tkalčićeva. These days you’ll find a lively street lined with restaurants, cafes and bars.
We reached what may be the most memorable museum in the whole world: The Museum of Broken Relationships. The museum is a global crowd-sourced project that deals with heartbreak. Inside you’ll find curious objects with a corresponding story.
St. Mark’s Church bears the medieval coat of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia and Slavonia on the left-hand side, and the emblem of Zagreb on the right.
To enjoy city views of the Lower Town there are some great vantage points along the promenade.
On our way down from the Upper Town, we walked through Zagreb’s famed Stone Gate. Once the eastern gate into the medieval settlement now houses a small chapel.
Let’s take a break from all the sightseeing to introduce you to one of our favourite restaurants in Zagreb when it comes to truffle dishes
And craving more views of the city, we then went up Zagreb 360.
Known as the Green Horseshoe, this park was named after Milan Lenuci who came up with the idea of creating connected green spaces right in the downtown. The horseshoe is home to several museums, galleries and archives.
If you’re into hockey and you visit Zagreb during the season, you can catch a game in the city. We watched Medveščak Zagreb play.
And that’s it for our visit to Zagreb! We hope you enjoyed this travel guide and that you got a few ideas of things to see, eat and do on your own visit.

Montenegrin Food Review - Eating local seafood dishes in Kotor, Montenegro Travel Food Video Transcript:
So it is time for our first food video here from Montenegro and the big question is what do we know about Montenegrin cuisine? Because apparently that is what it is called. Yeah. It is Montenegrin food. And the truth is not very much. I can't say I've ever had it anywhere else in the world. But we have been doing a bit of research. Apparently it is heavily influenced by Turkey, Greece, Italy and all of its neighbors. Um, so that should be interesting. And also it varies depending on the region you are in. So what they eat along the coast is very different from what they have up in the mountains. Yeah. So we're going to be focusing on seafood today because we're in Kotor. We are right by the water and yeah this place is called Cesarica I believe. Um, yeah and they have a massive menu and it is all seafood and everything sounds so good. We ordered some stuffed squid. Um, which should be interesting. I'm really excited about that because I was reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and everyone was saying eat the stuffed squid. Yeah. Um, so yeah. That is awesome. So why don't you ordered some tea. Why don't you try that. I got tea. I got tea because it is cold and it is rainy out so. It is green tea. Green tea it is. You had a choice between green tea and black and you're like I'll go with the green. It sounds good. It is keeping me warm.
Also, check out the restaurant. We're like in this little cave it feels like. Yeah. Yeah. The walls are super cool. It is all like stone and brick and it is super homey and kind of dark and I like it.
Alright and somebody is looking a little different since the last video. What has happened Sam? Yeah, I finally got my hair cut. My gosh I couldn't even remember the last time it was. It was in Poland. Yeah. That was in the summer. A few months ago and like the fall is almost over and we're moving into winter so this was moving on to like 3.5 or 4 months without a cut. Yeah. I got my haircut too so I've been really peppy today. It was getting pretty shaggy. So it was time.
Anyways raising a pint over here. A pint. I've got some of the dark local draft (Niksicko Pivo).
Oh that is quite nice. My like initial thoughts is that it has got a bit of a sweet molasses kind of flavor. It has got a bit of like a dark bread. And it does remind me a bit of Guinness. Like a lighter Guinness that is more sweet. Oh, and it is a nice beer. It should go really good with the seafood that is coming soon. Alright. Ready for it. Ready for it.
Alright guys the food is here and it looks amazing. Check this out. So this is what I ordered. This is the stuffed squid with shrimp. So I'm just going to bring one over. Let's cut into it. Look at the colors. It is like golden, crispy on the exterior. Really soft when you cut into it. Oh wow look at that. That sure is stuffed. That is the insides. It sure is stuffed. Oh my it smells so good. Does it? Yeah.
