Swimming with common dolphins on South Africa's annual Sardine Run
Common dolphins are the primary predator to form and maintain the sardine bait balls during South Africa's annual sardine run. Whilst locating the shoals, dolphins are awesome to swim with.

Sailing at 18 KNOTS down the WILD COAST of South Africa! SV Delos Sailing Ep. 102
After chilling out in Richards Bay waiting for a good weather window to sail south we finally get what we’ve been waiting for! 30 + knots of wind, 5+ knots of current and some big seas rocket us south along the Wild Coast of South Africa! Brian has to visit the local Dr. because of a strange bite on his hand, and we set sail once again to continue our passage!
This is our story, a story of three souls sailing around the world. It is a story about sailing, but it's also a story about the fantastic people we meet and amazing places we see. It's a story of people living their lives in an alternate way, in close connection with the beautiful people and amazing planet that we call home. Kiteboarding Travel Guide: Cape Town South Africa - Destinations EP 16
Welcome to Destinations your one stop kiteboarding video travel guide. If you have any questions when planning your trip, don't hesitate to reach out.
There's a place way down in the Southern Hemisphere where the scenery will steal your heart and the wind will knock you off your feet. It sounds intense and it is... in all the best ways! In this edition of Destinations, we're checking out a kite spot that's close to my heart: Cape Town, South Africa.
Cape Town is the home of the Red Bull King of the Air, and a popular kiteboarding hotspot. In the high season, it seems like the entire kiteboarding community comes together. Kitesurfers come from all over the world to chase their Big Air dreams and to kite with the legends of the sport.
On your average January day at Kite Beach in Cape Town, having the likes of Jesse Richman, Aaron Hadlow, Kevin Langeree, and Ruben Lenten throwing huge megaloops over you would not be an unusual sight! Not to mention the up and coming riders that spend their season training in these extreme conditions...
In this blog, we'll cover everything you need to know about kiteboarding in Cape Town. Scroll down to find out travel tips and advice for this epic South African destination.

Des Cason. How to sail in dangerous weather. #HowToPredictWeather #HowToSailSafely
Here is the second film from the series “The Folks of the Ocean”.
Umadum on his way to Cape Town in dangerous Mozambique channel.
Why it is so dangerous? Why they call it shipwrecking coast, wild coast?
It’s dangerous because of the weather. Because of unexpected weather changes. Because of southwest storms blowing over the strong Agulhas current. Because of big breaking waves which broke even big freighters.
Des Cason, OCC Award recipient, explains in this film how to avoid this dangers and sail this coast safely and easy.
Watch this film and you’ll know:
How to sail South African Coast?
How to read weather maps?
How to read grib files?
You can contact Des Cason via email sygambit(at)gmail.com
Stay safe,
Tali and Guenther
