Yes, today is our first day in Kaikoura and we are doing one of the most-loved Kaikoura wildlife activities: Kaikoura dolphin swim!
We join literally hundreds of dusky dolphins in their natural habitat in this swim with dolphins in Kaikoura experience. We spend over an hour having close encounters with the dusky dolphins in this swimming with dolphins in New Zealand tour. We are with Dolphin Encounter Kaikoura for this amazing boat cruise and dolphin swim in Kaikoura.

GoPro: Swimming with wild Dusky Dolphins in Kaikoura, New Zealand
Whilst travelling New Zealand I visited a small town called Kaikoura. It is known for its sea life including Dolphins, Whales and seals. I decided to spend my day there swimming with the beautiful dusky dolphins with a company called Dolphin Encounter. It was a great experience probably the best thing i did in my 18 months travelling. I would do it again in a heart beat and recommend it to anyone.

Swimming with HUNDREDS of dolphins in Kaikoura, New Zealand
If you ever wonder what else to do or see in New Zealand you can't miss this one. Definitely one of my best days EVER! There were literally hundreds of dolphins everywhere. When I jumped into the water and I saw a stampede of dolphins headed towards me I just took a breath, dove underwater and enjoyed the race. So exciting!

Kaikoura is the perfect place in New Zealand to spot wildlife. The first day we hopped on a boat ride with Dolphin Encounter Kaikoura. After a couple minutes we got extremely lucky and saw a family of orcas!! So unique. Best day ever. After that we spotted the Dusky Dolphins, geared up and jumped in the water to swim with them. What a day.. The day after we went for a chill walk to the seal colony on the peninsula and checked out the seals that are living over there. Enjoy!

I ditched the vlog this day, but that's ok because I went swimming with dolphins in New Zealand!! There's just something about dolphins that takes your breath away!!
I joined Dolphin Encounter Kaikoura for a once in a lifetime experience to swim with a pod of Dusky Dolphins, nearly 200 strong!!
They were so interactive and curious and just drop dead gorgeous!! All of this was filmed on my Nikon D500 and GoPro Hero 5.
I just want to go back to New Zealand so bad!!

You remember when you were a little kid and how excited you were for school trips to the zoo?
Yeap, it felt exactly that way! Just seeing and documenting these amazing creatures up-close being wild and free.
Truly a worth while experience. Kudos to the DOC in New Zealand to ensure these precious marine life stays unharmed. .

One of the best moments of my life. This is absolutely must-do in New Zealand.
These are wild dusky dolphins, never trained by humans. They are also one of the most acrobatic dolphins.

Kaikoura New Zealand Dolphin Encounter
We did the morning dolphin swim in Kaikoura on the 10th of October 2017. We got to see the sunrise, seabirds, a seal and of course the beautiful dusky dolphins. It was one of the most amazing experiences I've done in my life.
