France: The Jardin Dominique Alexandre Godron in Nancy
The Jardin Dominique Alexandre Godron (1 hectare) is a historic botanical garden covering an area of 1 hectare, that located at 3 rue Sainte-Catherine in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France.
The garden was founded in 1758 by Stanisław Leszczyński, the last Duke of Lorraine, as an adjunct to the Royal College of Medicine. It is the city's oldest botanical garden, and remained active as such until 1993 when its collections were transferred to the larger Jardin botanique du Montet outside the central city. It was named in honor of celebrated local botanist Dominique Alexandre Godron (1807-1880), who redesigned and reinvigorated the garden during his tenure as director, and now displays horticultural collections in its long, narrow beds.

Places to see in ( Nancy - France ) Museum Aquarium de Nancy
The Nancy Aquarium Museum , often abbreviated as MAN , is a heritage institution of scientific culture jointly managed by the Greater Nancy Metropolis and the University of Lorraine. This museum of natural history includes zoological and palaeontological collections as well as living collections, mainly ichthyological. The ground floor of the building has three aquarium galleries, with the Nautilus and Calypso galleries, as well as the boat room. This floor also hosts a temporary exhibition space and an amphitheater. On the first floor are the zoology gallery and another exhibition space.
The museum-aquarium of Nancy is located in the heart of Nancy , at 34, rue Sainte-Catherine , axis connecting Place Stanislas and Porte Sainte-Catherine . At the rear of the building is the former Nancy Botanical Garden, known as the Dominique Alexandre Godron Garden . The museum is served at 300 meters by the station Iron Division , on line 1 of the tram Nancy . Free parking is possible along the eastern canal and the marina, near the Sainte-Catherine gate.
The building housing the museum, built in 1933 , is in Art Deco style . It was designed by the architects Nancy Jacques André & his brother Michel André . The work is notably inspired by the work of the American architect Frank Lloyd Wright . As a necessary condition for the good conservation of natural history collections, the building has a windowless facade, completely blind. The building is protected as historical monuments since December 6, 2016.
The natural history collections include about 18,000 naturalized specimens out of a total of 140,000 specimens of which 600 are currently exposed; the collections are varied in nature: mammals, insects, collections of ethnology, osteology, stuffed animals, dry or fluid collections. Most of these specimens are very old and were naturalized at the end of the xix th century.
The Museum-aquarium presents 57 aquariums accessible to the public. New arriving animals routinely pass through the quarantine room. Indeed, transport and packaging weaken animals, making them more susceptible to disease. If necessary, treatments are administered either orally or by balneation.
The aquariums are mostly panoramic and have capacities ranging from 60 to 14,000 liters . The body of the aquariums is made of polyester resin. The filtration is independent for each aquarium, which makes it possible to have no interference between the aquariums, as much from a physico-chemical point of view as from a sanitary point of view. Operating 24 hours a day, partial ultraviolet sterilization reduces the load of pathogens that may exist in the water. The lamp powers are adapted to the volumes of the aquariums.
