Donegal Craft Village Co Donegal is found around a mile south of Donegal town on the R267. If you enjoy arts and crafts and a nice meal or snack in a very relaxed atmosphere this is tha place to visit. You can even watch the artists at work and meet them and have a chat. All work is done on site literally before your very eyes!

We are a creative collective of craft and art studios and shops all clustered around a beautiful courtyard. We are a small community of skilled independent handcrafters and we invite you into our workshops to view our glass, hand-woven textiles, painting, jewellery, printmaking and handmade felt art. Situated 2km outside Donegal Town on the Wild Atlantic Way, the Craft Village is also home to the award winning Aroma coffee shop and mini bakery famous for its divine cakes, homemade brown bread and mouthwatering lunches.

A Tourists Guide to Derry and Donegal | Irelands Northern Corner
Locals from Greencastle Village in Donegal, Pauline and her big sister Rose take us on a journey through Derry and Donegal.
They start off in Derry (or Londonderry to some) which one of the last walled cities in Europe and a University city. Within it they show us some hidden gems such as the Derry Craft Village.
From Derry they take the cycle track that leads all the way to Donegal along the River Boyle. They travel to Kinnoge Bay withs its golden sand and try out horse riding on the beach before ending up in the most northerly point in Ireland - Malin Head.

Bridgetown Cottage Kerrykeel
Bridgetown Cottage is a lovely 3 bedroom holiday home located in the coastal village of Kerrykeel in North Donegal. All the amenities of the village are within easy walking distance from the front door while the shores of Mulroy Bay are just 200 metres away.
The holiday home has been totally refurbished in the last year. It now features a stylish modern kitchen with dining area, 3 bright double bedrooms, a living room with solid fuel stove and a bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. There is a large lawn to the back and a smaller lawn to the front with views of Mulroy Bay. There is paving to the side and back and a storage shed for bicycles, fishing rods etc.
Kerrykeel lies along the scenic Mulroy Drive - an official detour off the Wild Atlantic Way driving route. The village is well served with shops and pubs and has an art gallery and craft shop with cafe. There are a number of eating establishments in the village including the beautifully situated Ripples Restaurant. Nearby the Rockhill Holiday Park has a wide range of amenities including climbing walls, water walkers, slides, rodeo bull, bungee trampolines, indoor cars, soft play areas and loads of bouncy castles.
Kerrykeel is located on the Fanad Peninsula. This beautiful peninsula has some of the most remarkable cliff scenery in Ireland, including outstanding examples of marine erosion. The peninsula has numerous bays, glorious beaches, rugged mountains, rolling hills and numerous small lakes. On the western shores of the peninsula the renowned Knockalla coast road offers a spectacular drive overlooking Lough Swilly and the Inishowen hills. The entire peninsula is ideal terrain for walkers and cyclists. The iconic Fanad Lighthouse - a signature point on the Wild Atlantic Way - is just 20 km from the holiday home.

The museum has an extensive library of free pamphlets, brochures and booklets. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you on your next visit to Donegal. The Centre is open to individuals, schools, colleges, history groups, bus tours, holidaymakers or anyone who has an interest in local history and culture.
Monreagh Heritage and Education Centre hosts regular cultural events, workshops, presentations and film evenings. The Centre is open all year, Monday to Friday from 10am to 5pm.

Dunlewey is a true hidden gem of Donegal tourism. This small gaeltacht village has three iconic landmarks on its doorstep Mount Errigal, The Poison Glen and Dunlewey Lake. It is also the venue for the popular Dunlewey Centre (Ionad Cois Locha). Facilities at this centre include restaurant, tea-room, craft shop, horse riding, adventure play areas, a themed farmyard, pets and animals, storytelling, boat trips on Dunlewey Lake, guided tours and weaving demonstrations. Traditional music sessions are held regularly in July and August. The centre now boasts a purpose built concert and drama centre.
Furze Park Holiday Home - Greencastle, Inishowen
Furze Park is a 3 bedroom holiday bungalow situated on an elevated site above Greencastle harbour and shore front. This comfortable self catering accommodation enjoys lovely views over Lough Foyle towards Binevenagh Mountain, Magilligan Strand and the north Derry coast.
The holiday home is on a 3/4 acres site and is surrounded by well maintained lawns. The living room and 2 of the bedrooms enjoy sea and mountain views. The holiday home is wheelchair friendly with a ramp to the back door and a large wet room in the main bedroom. An added attraction is a large garage for storing bicycles, golf clubs, fishing rods etc.
The holiday home is just across the road from the Cairn Visitor Centre. This centre brings Irish Heritage to life through lighting, voice overs, photographs and life size figures. It also holds theatre events and workshops. The centre also has a craft shop. Just a few hundred metres from the holiday home there is a shop and the local pub - the views from the beer garden in this pub are breathtaking.
Greencastle - An Ideal Holiday Base for the Inshowen Peninsula
Greencastle itself is a small coastal town located in the eastern side of the scenic Inishowen Peninsula in Co Donegal. It is situated close to the narrow mouth of Lough Foyle and is just 1km by ferry from Magilligan Point in Co Derry.
The village has a beautiful setting overlooking Lough Foyle towards the dramatic Benevenagh Mountain. It originally developed as fishing port but it recent times has become a popular family tourist destination. This is due to a number of factors including its central location on the Inishowen Peninsula, its easy access to the dramatic northern coastlines of Derry and Antrim and its proximity to the historic walled City of Derry. It is also due to a number of more local factors including Greencastles rich maritime heritage, its friendly pubs, its beautiful 18 hole golf course and the wonderful Shroove beach overlooked by the dramatic Stroove Lighthouse. Greencastle lies along the route of Irelands Wild Atlantic Way and is just 40km from one of the main destination points on this route - Malin Head

A short trip around the county's sights and scenery
Inver, County Donegal
Situated off the main Donegal - Killybegs road, a few miles outside Mountcharles, Inver is set on a beautiful point where the River Eany enters Donegal Bay. This quaint village is located amid spectacular scenery on the south Donegal coastline. The fishing port of Killybegs is just a few miles away.
