Buzzards - Calgary's Best Pub?
With a beer list of over 250 different beer from all over the world and an equally impressive food menu Executive Chef, Aaron Scherr thinks that Buzzards Restaurant and Bar could be Alberta's best Bar & Grill ... if not Western Canada's #1 venue !
Beer from Laos, Japan, Trinidad, Slovakia, and all over the world is a claim to fame at Buzzards. In fact, they have a variety of over 250 different beers. One way to keep drinkers interested is their Around the World in 80 Beers campaign which has been running for over 20 years. Patrons can buy a Passport for $5 and they get a stamp for every different beer they order. They are rewarded when they hit milestones of 20, 40, and 60 beers, and once they reach 80 different beer they get a hoodie, pint glass, and their name added to a plaque on the wall.
When it comes to food Buzzards takes things equally seriously. Their menu is made up of foods locally sourced whenever possible and 80% of the menu is prepared from scratch. One dish of theirs often considered their claim to fame is their 'Prairie Oysters' or bull testicles. Prairie Oysters are always a hit, but during the Cowboy Stampede every summer they are the hottest thing in all of Calgary. It's not every day that you can say you ate 'Bulls balls' !
