PRESENTED BY AL PARKINSON
Hailing from the Western Australian town of Margaret River, Rowena Wise has grown up with music, touring nationally and internationally performing from a young age in the Wise Family Band.
Relocating to Melbourne in 2012, Wise has immersed herself in the local scene, playing regularly as a member of The Stray Hens, while writing and recording her own indie-folk songs on guitar and ukulele.
In the vein of Feist, Wise puts pop-infused melodies, and quirky, conversational lyrics onto a sparse, folk canvas. Her voice breaks and bellows in all the right places, and there is a believability that defies her 20 years.
Recently coming runner-up at the Folk Alliance Youth Awards 2014, Wise will spend the year playing festivals, touring and recording her debut EP, due for release in the second half of 2014.

Absolute Privacy, 4 Bed, 2 Bath, 3ac Rainforest, 950m to Shops!
Proudly Presented By Guy Saddleton 'Misty Glen' has been thoroughly loved by the current owners since 1988. It is without a doubt one of Bellingen's rarest and most special positions and offers approximately 3 acres of rare rainforest that is a favourite for visiting garden clubs and often referenced by botanical garden experts. The home offers 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with covered verandahs all 4 sides, providing perfect relaxing spots in all weather. Absolute privacy is usually only found some distance out of town but here you have it just 950m from the heart of Bellingen.
Scotchman Road has long been recognised as one of Bellingen's best streets, offering small acreage properties within easy walking distance of town and the Bellingen Primary School. This particular property sits high atop the Scotchman and enjoys a lovely North Easterly aspect with lovely cool summer breezes.
When you arrive here and pass the line of Tibouchina's on the front boundary you can then park in the double carport and enjoy the all weather, covered access, to this home. Walk along the verandah to the front door and admire the rain forest below before you step into the open plan living/dining/ kitchen area (8x9m), complete with split system reverse cycle air-conditioning.
The living/dining area enjoys cathedral ceilings, is carpeted (12 months old) and is currently set up with 2 separate lounge areas as well as a comfortable 6 seater dining setting. The kitchen has been recently renovated (2 years) and offers loads of bench, cupboard and drawer space together with generous pantry, 5 burner gas cook top, extra large fan forced electric oven and double stainless steel sink, with delightful garden views from virtually anywhere in the kitchen.
Down the hall now we find the centrally located main bathroom offering separate shower, small separate bath and 1200mm vanity with the separate dual flush toilet adjacent.
Further down the hall we find the master bedroom (4x3.6m) with adjoining study (2.5x3.6m) together with 3-door built-in robe and direct access to the covered verandahs. Or combine these two spaces for a very generous 6.5 x 3.6m master bedroom suite.
Bedroom 2 (4 x 3m) also enjoys a 3-door built in robe and both bedroom 1 & 2 are carpeted, both have split system, reverse cycle air conditioners, and both enjoy delightful garden views.
Downstairs now, we find another two bedrooms together with bathroom and toilet, and an independent external access as well as internal staircase to upstairs - ideal for guests, teenagers or possibly separate accommodation without much effort at all.
Bedroom 3 (3.6x3m) is carpeted with 2-door built in robe and bedroom 4 (3 x 3m) also comes with 2-door built-in robe and carpet. The downstairs bathroom would more correctly be called a shower room with a separate dual flush toilet and hand basin adjacent on one side and the spacious laundry to the other side. The hall and entry into downstairs are tiled for easy maintenance and easy access from the garden.
Now outside, to the incredibly rare rainforest that has been lovingly planted and nurtured by the current owners for over 27 years. They bought a sloping paddock and have created a private rainforest that has been referenced and commended by some of Australia's leading botanical experts including Alex Floyd from the North Coast Regional Botanical Garden.
We have extensive pictorial and technical details available on all the various species planted but a quick example is that the total flora when purchased in 1988 consisted of 2 Red Cedars, 1 Turpentine, 2 Jacarandas, 5 Eucalyptus, together with a few Sally Wattles and the mowing took 10 - 12 hours. Today there is in excess of 3500 plants, including 500 Bromeliads and Orchids, and the mowing takes 1 hour 15 minutes.
A walk in the rainforest here is like stepping into your own private wonderland with beautifully established and maintained paths throughout. The current owners have identified 115 different bird species on the property together with a myriad of local wildlife and of course, a resident Satin Bowerbird with well established bower.
There is a lovely private barbecue area, a propagating shade house, a generous garden shed, the convenience of town water and much more.
In this property you have a unique mix of luxurious privacy, a very well maintained family home and 3 acres of easily maintained private, rare rainforest just 950 m from the heart of Bellingen.
Could this be the property you have been looking for?

Taste Orange in Sydney - Yasmin Scrivener Reporting
Sydneysiders flocked to Martin Place today to sample a Taste of Orange.
Thousands packed stalls set up in the iconic Sydney location, which was transformed into a cellar door where people tasted free food and wine from Orange producers.
SCRIPT
Wine flowed and the food was devoured, as people took time out of there busy day to enjoy the Taste of Orange.
The region is renowned for its quality produce, event organizers wanting to let Sydneysiders know what they're missing out on.
GRAB: Kath Thompson -- Event Organiser - 12 seconds
Look Orange is now getting a very good reputation and we have for some time now for its wine and its food. We make wonderful olive oils, we've obviously got all the stone fruit in the region as well, and of course now with our wine which are award winning.
The initiative is a key marketing strategy for New South Wales Tourism, recognizing Orange as one of the states leading visitor destinations.
GRAB: Andrew Gee -- Member for Orange - 12 seconds
The New South Wales government is right behind this promotion, Destination NSW has put in 60,000 dollars, the whole promotion is going to cost 120,000 in all. For Orange this is a very big promotion.
Taste Orange also aims to attract more than just tourists, hoping to draw people to the region more permanently.
GRAB: Andrew Gee - 13 seconds
I personally moved out to Orange because it offered un unbeatable quality of life and I think if we come out to events like this and show people what we have got to offer we're going to see more and more people going to make the change to live and invest in Orange.
This years success is likely to guarantee an even bigger and better event in Sydney next year.
GRAB: Rhonda Sear - Brand Orange Executive Officer -- 11 seconds
We really would like to keep rolling these out, like a pop up event around Sydney and just see how were received, but were just taking this one, we learn from this one and then develop this further for next year.
