Zoo Dortmund (Offizieller Imagefilm)
Dieser Imagefilm über den Zoo Dortmund wurde im Rahmen einer Projektarbeit im Studiengang Journalismus und Public Relations an der Westfälischen Hochschule in Gelsenkirchen produziert. Das Projektteam, unter der Betreuung von Professor Dr. Rainer Janz, setzte sich zusammen aus Jens Artschwager, Sarah Bauer, Briana Maddalena, Rebekka Melles, Julia Pawlik und Marcel Stawinoga. Als Sprecher konnte der erfahrene Radio-Sprecher Ronald Menn für den Film gewonnen werden.
Der Zoo wird aus der Sicht eines Familienbesuchs dargestellt. Im Imagefilm wurden vier kurze Filme eingebaut, die jeweils ein eigenes Thema aufgreifen. Diese vier Themen – Erholung, Bildung, Forschung, Artenschutz – sind die wesentlichen Aufgaben eines Zoos und festgelegt in der Welt-Zoo- und Aquarien-Naturschutzstrategie (WZANS) des Weltverbandes der Zoos und Aquarien (WAZA).
Der Beitrag über die Robbenfütterung zeigt, dass ein Zoo als Freizeiteinrichtung Spaß und Erholung bietet. Bei den Nebelpardern wird verdeutlicht, dass ein Zoo durch koordinierte Zucht darum bemüht ist, bedrohte Tierarten zu schützen. Bei den Keilkopf-Glattstirnkaimanen steht das Thema „Forschung“ im Vordergrund und schließlich wird bei der Bastel-Aktion im Kinderferienprogramm gezeigt, dass ein Zoo nicht nur Spaß bietet, sondern das dort auch etwas gelernt werden kann.
Neben zahlreichen Tieraufnahmen kommen auch Zoodirektor Dr. Frank Brandstätter und Biologie-Student Markus Patschke zu Wort.

It is specialized in the keeping and breeding of South American species and is leading in the breeding of the giant anteater, the tamandua and the giant otter. The zoo is situated in the south of the city between the boroughs of Hacheney and Brünninghausen.
The Zoo Dortmund is one of the most popular destinations in Dortmund and the region. About 1,500 animals in 230 species live in the Dortmund Zoo.
The park landscape with its old trees and the modern animal houses make the zoo visit in all weathers an experience for the whole family.

Dortmund Zoo 2019
So gestern war ich mit meinem Enkel und Familie im Dortmunder Zoo, der Tierpark ist sehr schön und gut gepflegt. Das weiträumige Areal lädt zum abschalten ein.
Der Streichelzoo:
Wie fühlt sich das Fell einer Ziege an und was ist eine Skudde? Antworten hierzu bietet der Streichelzoo. Hier ist zudem der einzige Ort im Zoo, wo das Füttern der Tiere erlaubt ist. Damit unsere Tiere keine Bauchschmerzen bekommen, darf jedoch nur das Futter aus den Automaten, die vor dem Streichelgehege stehen, verfüttert werden!
Erlebnis-Stationen:
Kannst Du weiter springen als ein Känguru oder so geschickt klettern wie ein Brillenbär? An zahlreichen Gehegen könnt Ihr Euer Können mit dem der Tiere messen. Wer von Euch lag schon mal in einem Schildkröten-Panzer und wer saß in einem Kängurubeutel? Diese und viele weitere Erlebnis-Stationen kannst Du im Zoo Dortmund entdecken!

Sie können aber auch ganz bequem dem ausgeschilderten Rundweg folgen. Dieser führt Sie an nahezu allen Tiergehegen vorbei. Den Rundweg können Sie jederzeit abkürzen oder verlängern ganz nach Ihren individuellen Interessen und Vorlieben. Der Zoo Dortmund wurde am 24. Mai 1953 von der damaligen Zoo-Gesellschaft Dortmund e. V. über dem Grubenfeld der ehemaligen Zeche Glückaufsegen südlich des Rombergparks im Stadtteil Brünninghausen als Tierpark Dortmund eröffnet.

The Botanischer Garten Rombergpark, or informally Rombergpark, is an extensive municipal arboretum and botanical garden located at Am Rombergpark 49b, Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. With its total area of 65 hectares the Rombergpark is one of the largest botanical gardens in the world. It is open daily.
The garden was established in 1822 as the Romberg family's English landscape park. In 1927-1929 it was acquired by the city and under city planning director Richard Nose enhanced by a small herb garden. The park and castle were badly damaged in World War II, but starting in 1950 director Gerd Krüssmann rebuilt it as an arboretum, adding some 4500 species to the park. In 1958 the park's greenhouses were built, and in 1985 a garden of medicinal plants was added.
1945 Event - 289 anti-fascists were murdered by nazis in Rombergpark Dortmund. Today the garden contains a historic English landscape park with monuments; an arboretum containing thousands of species of woody plants, including some of the largest trees in North Rhine-Westphalia; a terrace with palm trees; and four greenhouses (1000 m² total area) for cactus and succulents, ferns, tropical plants, and camellias, jasmine, and lemons.

Dortmund is a city in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia region. It's known for its Westfalen Stadium, home to the Borussia soccer team. Nearby Westfalen Park is marked by the Florian Tower, with its observation platform. The Dortmund U-Tower is topped by a huge letter U and houses Museum Ostwall’s contemporary art exhibits. Rombergpark botanical garden has local trees and greenhouses with cacti and tropical plants.
Football (soccer) is a major Dortmund passion. Borussia Dortmund, the city’s Bundesliga (premier league) team, has won the national championships an impressive eight times. So it's actually quite appropriate that Dortmund was chosen as the site of the German Football Museum, which opened in 2015. Other attractions include several treasure-filled churches and high-calibre art museums.
As the largest city in the Ruhrgebiet, Dortmund once built its prosperity on coal, steel and beer. These days, the mines are closed and the steel mills quiet, with more zeitgeist-compatible high-tech industries having taken their place. Only the breweries are going as strong as ever, churning out oceans of beer and ale, much of it for export.
The city popping up first when people think of the Ruhr valley and that's no surprise. Being the largest Ruhr City, it is also the third largest by population after Cologne and Duesseldorf and the geographical center of the State North Rhine-Westphalia . Worldwide the City is foremost know for Beer (pale export/lager beer called Dortmunder) and the famous sports club Ballspielverein Borussia 09, Borussia Dortmund or BVB fort short. However, the city is so much more than the reputation (Football, Beer and Industry) and has itself no need to shy away from the Cities on the Rhine. And yes, the city is no classy beauty and rough at first glance, though pretty honest, adorable and cordially at the second.
Founded around 882, Dortmund became an Imperial Free City. Throughout the 13th to 14th centuries, it was the chief city of the Rhine, Westphalia, the Netherlands Circle of the Hanseatic League. After the Thirty Years' War the city was destroyed and decreased in significance until the onset of industrialization. The city then became one of Germany's most important coal, steel and beer centres. Dortmund acquired the nickname Stahlstadt (Steel City) in the 19th century, when it became the world center of steel production. Consequently the city was one of the most heavily bombed cities in Germany during World War II. The devastating bombing raids of 12 March 1945 destroyed 98% of buildings in the inner city center. This bombing raids with more than 1,110 aircraft was a record to a single target in World war II.The region has adapted since the collapse of its century long steel and coal industries and shifted to high technology biomedical technology, micro systems technology and also services.
