Thailand Adventures - CHIANG MAI!
Waking up on the train to see the beautiful countryside of Chiang Mai was such a change from the city streets of Bangkok. It was my favorite area in Thailand, and we had some of our most memorable experiences here! Hanging out with elephants, tuk-tuk rides and zip lining just to name a few. I hope you enjoy a glimpse of our time in Chiang Mai Thailand!
Thank you for the go pro footage Angel!

Thailand Market Chiangmai part 2 (of2) Dec 2009
A trip around the Thai market that is close to our house in Chiangmai Thailand .. in fact walking distance.
It is a market that only appears in an open area three times a week Mon/Wed/Fri.
There is no music over this video .. only an intro from me and the background market sounds.
It is produced to be used to identify the produce that is on sale.
There are also over 700 high quality images I've taken in markets that can also be used as classroom resources ... under a creative commons licence at

Sichon (สิชล), Thailand - This is one of those pristine beach villages, that almost unseen Thailand, and what I loved so much about it was that it’s almost completely non-commercialized.
Ok, so my wife and I were spending some time in Nakhon Si Thammart, southern Thailand, visiting family. Nakhon Si Thammart happens to be one of my favorite provinces in Thailand for Thai food, known for being spicy and harsh, and you’ll find some amazing cuisine.
One day, we drove over to the tiny beach community village of Sichon (สิชล), I had heard about a small local fish market, and I was excited to check it out. We arrived at about 8 am, and it was one of those place where I got so excited because it was picture perfect. But then I saw all the empty trays of fish and I thought I had arrived too late because all the fish were gone. Luckily, an Aunty explained that the fishing boats hadn’t yet arrived, to my relief.
The fish market itself was beautiful, filled with friendly people, small delicious Thai street food snacks, and scenery to dream about. We had some patongko (ปาท่องโก๋) - 10 THB ($0.28), Chinese doughnuts and Khanom krok (ขนมครก) - 20 THB ($0.58), coconut griddle cakes, for breakfast, as we waited for the boats to come in.
Unfortunately the catch in Sichon (สิชล) today wasn’t the best, they were mostly small fish and nothing too exciting. But I did notice an Aunty selling some eels, and that caught my attention. The next thing you know, I was on the back of her motorbike, and we went back to her house to cook spicy chili eel (ผัดเผ็ดปลาไหล). It was truly an amazing experience seeing her cook the eel at her home in the village countryside.
For the rest of the morning we drove around Sichon, enjoying the stunning beach coastal scenery and finding a few interesting things along the way. They don’t really have many restaurants to choose from, so finally we found a small Halal eater on the side of the beach and went for it. Again, the Aunty’s were extremely friendly, and we ordered a few simple Thai dishes to eat along with the eel.
Sichon (สิชล) is a true off the beaten path destination in Thailand, and what I loved so much about it is that it’s so non-commercialized, peaceful and quiet, and the people in the community are so friendly and hospitable. It’s one of the most memorable places I’ve traveled in Thailand in a long time!

Journey Thailand EP1 - Chiang Mai
In this edition of Journey Thailand we're taking you to Chiang Mai, the largest province in Northern Thailand. And today we're going to see what goes in to making Larb Kua Moo, an interesting twist on the traditional Larb that you've probably had in your local Thai restaurant. Footage provided by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
A Remote Thai Coffee Shop | Chiang Mai, Thailand
Thailand has so much to offer, and this quaint little coffee shop was no different. Tucked away on a random dirt road somewhere in the mountains we found this little spot that was really amazing. The coffee shop itself was so simple but the location and atmosphere around it were really incredible.

MUANG MAI MARKET in CHIANG MAI // Full-Time Travel in Thailand
Today was a typical day for us in Chiang Mai. We visited Muang Mai market as we do every day BUT we discovered another section packed FULL of fruit! Lucky us! ???? We also wandered around searching for a tourism office so we could book a day trip (we had one specific office in mind, but had difficulty finding it!). Then we had dinner at Dada Kafe and finished the night with a walk around the city.
We’ve been eating out a lot lately, but Thai food here is very affordable so we figure why not enjoy it! This dinner at Dada Kafe cost just under $17 for both of us combined. This included papaya salad, spicy tofu salad, two servings of rice, two fresh-squeezed passion fruit-pineapple-orange juices, and three orders of mango sticky rice. (Yes, three orders…LOL!) We stick to healthy vegan Thai food when eating out, so the food is always cheap, delicious, and filling!
Usually, we don’t spend that much on a meal but we were very hungry! A more moderate meal would be two salads, three servings of rice, and a Thai tea shared between us. At our favourite vegan restaurants (Taste From Heaven and Vegan Heaven), this only costs around $6-8 for both of us! ????
Thanks for watching my video! If you are new to my channel, my name is Lisa. I'm a minimalist nomad vegan. Almost 2 years ago I made the decision to quit my job and started downsizing my life by selling and rehoming all my belongings. Now I travel 24/7 with everything I own fitting comfortably into one bag.

BEST STREET FOOD IN CHIANG MAI - Famous Northern Thai Food Market
Want to know the best street food in Chiang Mai? Look no further than this famous Northern Thai Food Market! The Chang Phuak Night Market is home to the famous Cowboy Lady as well as Northern Thailand’s most delicious dish! Watch now to see the best food in Chiang Mai.
We decided to film this Thai food vlog at Chang Phuak Night Market; an unassuming local hawker center just north of the northern-most old city gate. We came to this food market for one reason, the Cowboy Lady. Anthony Bourdain raved about her version of Khao Kha Moo which is braised pork leg served over rice with broth. Is it worth making the special trip for? Watch and see!
Next we tried the most famous dish in Northern Thailand. Khao Soi is an absolute must try food in Chiang Mai made as a curry, coconut noodle dish and is served with chicken or pork and topped with crispy fried noodles. I won’t even leave you guys hanging with this one, it was amazing! If you are looking to try the best Thai street food during your holiday, you have to hunt down Khao Soi in Chiang Mai. Make sure to look for this dish only in Northern Thailand because you can’t find it in most other provinces in Thailand.
It’s really tough to say where the best street food in Chiang Mai is located because every street food stall in this mountain town takes serious pride in their cooking. That’s why I didn’t plan the rest of the Thailand street food tour, I just decided to “wing” it. That’s my dorky transition into telling you that the next dish I tried was a grilled chicken wing… haha :) For less than $1 USD, the chicken wing was huge and delicious.
Last but not least, no street food in Chiang Mai video would be complete without trying Thai desserts. We kept the adventure going and decided to order a green bread dessert with a pandan and coconut cream dip. Since our sweet tooth is basically the size of Thailand, we also went to our favorite set of Chiang Mai street food vendors over on Nimmanhaemin Road to get some mango sticky rice! Although Ryan isn’t adventurous with street food, he will say that mango sticky rice is the best Thai food there is. He’s addicted. Speaking of Ryan, we also got him an incredible burger from a food truck in the Nimman neighborhood. So if for some reason you’re sick of Thai food (um, what?) head on over to Kitchen with Soh-ly and grab yourself the best burger in Chiang Mai.
That’s it for our Chiang Mai street food tour! If you have any questions on where to eat in Chiang Mai, what the must try food in Chiang Mai is, or anything regarding Thailand leave us a comment down below. We have lived and worked in Thailand for a total of 4 months this year and truly love this country. We hope you enjoyed seeing some famous Northern Thai food along with some classic Thai street food staples in this video. Make sure to check out our other Thailand travel vlogs which are located on our channel page. We will see you guys in the next video, seeya!

Is This the Largest Thai Market in the World?
Thailand has an abundance of markets in every city and every province all the way from Bangkok up to Chiang Mai.
Chatuchak Market also known as JJ Market may very well be the biggest. not online in Bangkok, but in all of Thailand.
Wikipedia claims that the market has more than 15,000 stalls, divided into 27 sections!
I recently took a short trip to Bangkok and thought it'd be a nice idea to stop by this amazing market to shoot some footage before I left on my flight back to Chiang Mai.

Super Convenient Thai BANGKOK Street Food in DON MUANG! Near Airport ✈ (Part 4)

???? staying at the Amari Don Muang Hotel?
Walking distance from the Don Muang Airport, there are lots of street food vendors in this area, but the restaurant we show the Thai cooking is located right across the street, and little to the left from the Amari Hotel. Very yummy, and they give good portion sizes. Most of the street food in this area average about 30-40 baht ($0.86 - $1.14) per dish, but depending some may be higher. Cheaper than the restaurants in the hotel and airport.
There is a walkway overpass that leads you directly from the Don Muang Airport straight to the Amari Hotel. Along this walkway, there is a stairway that connects you to the street food vendors (watch in video).
For your convenience, there is also a 7-11 (about a 5 minute walk in the direction of traffic, on the left side) down the street from the hotel. You will also find lots more street food along the way towards 7-11. If you have time, take a little cruise and walk around. You will have lots of FUN.

THINGS TO DO IN CHIANG MAI THAILAND | TOP ATTRACTIONS TRAVEL GUIDE
1) Chiang Mai is famous for its night markets. We grabbed some lunch before heading out to the Sunday Night Market which is best explored from Thapea Gate. The night market consisted of so many random handicrafts such as ornaments, silks, and you name it. THe best part about the night market was the Thai street food.
2) Elephant tourism is well known in and around Chiang Mai and Thailand in general. Unfortunately, a lot of camps do not take good care of the elephants and that is seen in the way they are treated when you visit a certain camp. We opted to visit a NO RIDING camp where the elephants are not in captivity and are treated with so much care.
3) One of the places I wanted to visit was the Doi Suthep which is a beautiful temple right at the top of the mountain but we did not get a chance due to time constraints.
4) Another thing on my to-do list was taking a thai cooking class as I love the Tom Yum soup that Thailand has to offer. That wish was left unfulfilled as we only had 2 days to explore Chiang Mai.
I also learned of a dish called Khao Soi which is a famous dish made in coconut milk in Chiang Mai but unfortunately, I was unable to try that as well.
Hope you Enjoy! Let me know if there are places I need to visit on my next trip and if you guys are going anytime soon. Be sure to give me a thumbs up to let me know you liked the video and if you'd like to see more videos like this. And don't forget to subscribe. See you in the next video!

Thai Food Heaven
EDIT: sorry ends at 1.20...didn't delete the music. Welcome to my trip to Muang Mai Market in Chiang Mai, Thailand. A raw vegans Thai Food Heaven. If you're headed there just wanted to share a slice of the fruit pie that is the fruits here and include some of the prices. I found some papayas for as low as 10baht each which is around 50 cents aussie... so don't be afraid to have a look around before buying. The fruits are found on the street running alongside the river.

Doi Inthanon 2009 Chiang Mai Thailand
Doi Inthanon (Thai: ดอยอินทนนท์(Pronunciation)) is the highest mountain in Thailand. It is located in Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai Province. This mountain is an ultra prominent peak and was also known in the past as Doi Luang (meaning big mountain) or Doi Ang Ka, meaning the crow's pond top. Near the mountain's base was a pond where many crows gathered. The name Doi Inthanon was given in honour of the king Inthawichayanon, one of the last kings of Chiang Mai, who was concerned about the forests in the north and tried to preserve them. He ordered that after his death his remains shall be placed at Doi Luang, which was then renamed.
Today, the summit of Doi Inthanon is a popular tourist destination for both foreign and Thai tourists, with a peak of 12,000+ visitors visiting the summit on New Year's Day. In addition to a range of tourist facilities on the summit, there is also a Royal Thai Air Force weather radar antenna on the summit.
The Wieng Lakor Hotel - Lampang, Thailand
The Wieng Lakor Hotel in Lampang was another beautiful spot to settle in for one night before a horse carriage ride the next day. Lampang was the third city in the Historical Cities of Thailand tour - Ayutthaya, Sukhothai and Lampang.
One of my favorite things, besides eating, is reading the menus in other countries. The misspellings and food offered make for hilarious reading. Snake head fish is probably delicious but I have a hard time ordering a dish with that name.
Loy Krathong Festival begins in many provinces
More than 60,000 lamps around the Old City Moat have been lit as part of a grand Loy Krathong event in Chiang Mai province this year.

Located in the heart of Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai is a growing city with laid back vibes, temples sprinkled around every corner, and a foodie scene that will make you drool. This is a destination where you come to unwind and that’s exactly what we did during our month long visit. Now let’s get started with this tour of Chiang Mai (清邁) so you can see what this city is all about:
One of the best things you can do in Chiang Mai is ditch the map and get lost inside the old city. It’s along the quiet back lanes that you’ll find cozy cafes, terracotta gardens, unvisited temples, and a little flavour of the old Chiang Mai.
As you’ve probably figured out, we’re not really into nightlife, but Chiang Mai does have lots of bars where you can enjoy a drink or two. We kept things light with a Chang beer.
And that’s a wrap for our visit to Chiang Mai, Thailand. We hope this video gave you a little taste of what this city is all about. We’ll be the first to tell you that we barely scratched the surface in terms of everything Chiang Mai (清迈) has to offer, but that being said, the goal of our time here was to relax, eat well, see friends, and catch up on work. As always, if you have any other suggestions of things to do, places to visit, and restaurants to eat at, feel free to share those with fellow travellers in the comments below. Until next time!
