Fort St. John Canada 150 Mural
2017 marks Canada’s 150 years of Confederation and the 75th anniversary of the Alaska Highway. To celebrate, the citizens of Fort St. John created a Mosaic 150 Mural to represent our community in a nation-wide project.
Dream Big Fort St. John to Tokyo
Hailing from Dead Horse Creek Ranch, located just North of Fort St John, to competing in the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020, Bo Hedges always knew he was capable of great achievements. “I believe that anything is possible” – Bo Hedges, 2018.
This is a story as much about Fort St John as it is about Bo. We will show all the ways in which this outstanding player and person was supported by his community resulting in an Paralympic athlete in basketball.
This documentary will show Bo as an extraordinary and influential person within the community, and a top para-athlete as he trains towards his final effort in leading his team as Captain to a gold medal in the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games. This is also a story of medical significance not just strength in community and the enduring culture of inclusive sport. Canada can teach the world about wheelchair massage.
What are his hopes and thoughts for his final game? Will he bring home gold?
Is he planning to come back to Northern B.C. and continue to give back to the community? What will happen with Bo Hedges after the final game in Tokyo?
Target Audience:
This documentary will have the most significant inspiration on, but not limited to, the youth and young adults, especially athletes and persons living with a disability, along with those living in rural or remote areas of Canada. Ultimately though, it will inspire all of us to be hands on with each other with therapeutic massage
remembering that anything is possible, and the world is full of opportunities.
About the Creators:
Christine Sutherland has teamed up with Ben Haab of Eagle Vision Video to create this inspiring Canadian documentary. Christine has worked with the wheelchair world since she was a teenager and now teaches wheelchair massage to families, friends, and medical professionals globally for preventative measures,
rehabilitation and enhanced wheelchair sports performance.
Ben has produced years of industrial documentaries in Northern BC and is an outstanding partner for bringing this project together hand in hand with Eagle Vision Video and Sutherland Productions. Christine co-founded Sutherland Chan School and Teaching Clinic in Toronto in 1978, but now leads World Wide Massage Services, teaching around the world where ever the need is high. Ben, Christine and Bo will give you the inside view into the real world of Paralympic sports and wheelchair sports massage with their film Fort St John to Tokyo.

Day 59 - 100 Day Challenge - Downtown Nipigon
my running journey and personal challenge in attempting to run 100 days in a row
Places Not To Go To
Well, after having my newly downloaded off the computer Windows Movie Maker 2.6 on my new Windows 7 freeze only four times during the course of it, this time so I was finally able to cobble together this project.
Places not to travel to
1. backwater towns - Shithole jerkwater towns are anachronisms. Going to a backwater town is to take a step backwards.
waterfront. backwater.
Vancouver and Victoria are waterfront. Dawson Creek is backwater. Understand?
I would sooner inject heroin, overdose and die before I would go to Dawson Creek ever again.
Ironically, I would rather inject heroin, overdose and die before I would move to the junkie neighbourhood of the downtown eastside main and hastings area of Vancouver.
2. Never go back to where you have been. A British saying which means to Never regress.
3. Never go to any towns in the so called first world that is worse than places in the 3rd world like North of 60 or the downtown eastside main and hastings junkie area of Vancouver. These places actually honest to God believe that they are first World.
4. Places in which the climate is very different from body temperature.
There is a concept called body temperature. Any place that is different from body temperature such as cold tundras or hot hot tropics, as any doctor will tell you, the longer you are there, the worse it is for your health.
Places that are too cold has hypothermia, exposure, flus, respiratory problems, chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, and skin cream for cold rash and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree frostbite.
Places that are too hot has heat stroke, heat exhaustion, St Lukes powder for prickly heat which is the counterpart for skin cream for cold rash, and 1st 2nd and 3rd degree sunburns which are ha ha, again a counterpart for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree frostbite.
Living in places with weird weather is healthwise, counterproductive. To live in such places is to constantly struggle against something extraneous.
In the old days, hundreds of years ago, people lived in places with weird climates because they simply did not know that places with better and moderate climates exist. People did not travel more than 100 miles because then they would have to face changing languages and cultures and also travelling on horseback or boat was difficult compared to travelling on a 747. Today, there is no excuse for people to stay in places with weird climates.
5. Do not travel to outer space. The entire Universe is a backwater, let alone most of Earth. Other planets are so backwater that they make small towns in Canada seem like Times Square in New York. So it would not be a good idea at all to go on the Mars One Project. This is an extension of the first rule of travel which is not to go to jerkwater or backwater towns.
Finally: Don't let this list stop you from going to any place. If you want to go, go. If you don't want to go, don't go. There are no mistakes.
Like Paul McCartney said, If you don't know or don't care where you are going, any road will take you there.
Who says you can't go back? Hippies, beatniks. Going back is square. Just another variable in an equation of regression. Just a regression to some former shit. Going back to square one. Uh, no thanks. What, am I legally required to go back?
I'm not legally required to go back. I'm not even morally required to go back. And I'm not even aesthetically required to go back.
I don't legally have to go back to Northern Canada. In terms of racial demographics, going back there would be going against the grain. Northern Canada is mainly chugs and cracker jacks. I'm a chink. I mean it'd be one thing if I was a chug or a cracker, but I'm not. So I don't have to go back there.
200 years ago, there was no written languages there while Asia has had written languages for thousands of years.
Moving away is an empowering experience. Going back is a disempowering experience.
Often a person has problems not because of who they are or because of what they did but because of where they are. Things about a person that are an issue in one place are irrelevant in another place.
Vote with your feet.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
Daylighting is the term for restoration of an originally open-air watercourse which had at some point been diverted below ground back into an above-ground channel. Typically, the rationale behind returning the riparian environment of a stream, wash, or river to a more natural state is to reduce runoff, create habitat for species in need of it, or improve an area's aesthetics. In the UK, the practice is also known as deculverting. In addition to its use in urban design and planning the term also refers to the public process of advancing such projects. According to the Planning and Development Department of the City of Berkeley, A general consensus has developed that protecting and restoring natural creeks' functions is achievable over time in an urban environment while recognizing the importance of property rights.
