Bodged Buttons & Battered Bells! McGRATH Hydraulic Lift/Elevator @ Cinemas, Palmerston North, NZ
Bodged Buttons & Battered Bells! This is the McGrath Industries Hydraulic Lift/Elevator at Event Cinemas in Palmerston North, New Zealand. This lift is from 1989 and uses GAL buttons which are a rare find in NZ. The bell sounds a little battered and not in its best condition - The lift itself has obviously seen better days but is still a nice rare find. I remember the motor being louder than this for some reason - I filmed one of these at Auckland Airport in October 2017 - I should probably get round to uploading it! This cinema was the first Multiplex to open in New Zealand in 1989!

HOUSEBOUND Official Trailer
In Cinemas in New Zealand Thursday 4 Sept 2014
Kylie Bucknell is forced to return to the house she grew up in when the court places her on home detention. Her punishment is made all the more unbearable by the fact she has to live there with her mother Miriam -- a well-intentioned blabbermouth who's convinced that the house is haunted. Kylie dismisses Miriam's superstitions as nothing more than a distraction from a life occupied by boiled vegetables & small-town gossip. However, when she too becomes privy to unsettling whispers & strange bumps in the night, she begins to wonder whether she's inherited her overactive imagination, or if the house is in fact possessed by a hostile spirit who's less than happy about the new living arrangement.

Palmerston North
Palmerston North (Māori: Te Papaioea or transliterated Māori: Pamutana), commonly referred to by locals as Palmerston, or colloquially Palmy, is the main city of the Manawatu-Wanganui region of the North Island of New Zealand.
The city is inland, located in the eastern Manawatu Plains, near the north bank of the Manawatu River. The city is 35 km (22 mi) from the river's mouth and 12 km (7 mi) from the end of the Manawatu Gorge. It is about 140 km (87 mi) north of the capital, Wellington.

TPPA - Tauranga Says No
On Friday 18 September 2015 a number of residents went into the centre of town as part of an ongoing protest against the TPPA. What is now becoming clear are the reasons for the secrecy behind the proposed deal. Each time a part of the deal has been leaked there has been a huge uproar in the affected countries, when residents (and politicians) find out what is being done in their name.
The drafts being negotiated were written by a number of Corporate firms acting in concert, it was then passed to the US Government, which has submitted it to other countries as 'their' proposal. Resistance is growing around the world, as the negotiators attempt to rush through a deal before more leaks by whistle-blowers threaten to scupper the whole project.
The core of the opposition revolves around the effective transfer of powers from elected government to unelected Corporations. Governments can now be sued in private courts if they take action that a Corporation believes is against their interests. Some examples that have already happened are given in the film.
Further information is available on line via the usual tax avoiding sources (Google/YouTube/Facebook), or even at your local library - if you are lucky enough to still have one.

Broken LED's! 2014 Schindler 3300 MRL Traction Lift/Elevator @ 252 Broadway, Palmerston North, NZ
[R1] Broken LED's! This is the 2014 Schindler 3300 MRL Traction Lift/Elevator at 252 Broadway Avenue in Palmerston North, New Zealand. This is quite a nice Schindler 3300 install. I like the orange cab walls. Some of the LED's on the indicator are broken so the arrow doesn't display correctly. Apart from that minor problem the lift is in a good condition.

Palmerston North's Birds on Broadway (What a Mess!)
I found this hilarious - but I understand local businesses and customers don't. The Caltex Car Wash came in handy later!

LOUD Motor & Bells! OTIS Lexan Hydraulic Lift/Elevator @ Manawatu House, Palmerston North, NZ
LOUD Motor & Bells! This is the LOUD OTIS Lexan Hydraulic Lift/Elevator at Manawatu House in Palmerston North, New Zealand. The bells on this lift are really loud and the whole building can hear them! This building is semi abandoned so there were no people about. The motor room is in the basement - the motor is very audible which is nice. I was in a rush which was why I didn't take another ride. Palmerston North mainly has OTIS lifts but a few of the newer installs are Schindler.

Otis 2000H Hydraulic Lift @ Whanganui War Memorial Hall
This lift is an Otis 2000H @ Whanganui War Memorial Hall. It's rather fast for a hydraulic and has classic leveling. This lift is fitted with the Otis UK voice. At the time of filming it was rather busy as there was an event going on. I haven't seen many Otis 2000's in New Zealand, let alone Whanganui. Opposite the war memorial hall is the Whanganui Regional Museum which also has an Otis 2000H but is currently closed until October. Thanks for watching!
