4K City Walks: Spokane, Washington Virtual Treadmill Walking Tour was filmed early on a Sunday morning in May. Hope you enjoy it.
We're on our way to Europe for the summer via Seattle. We had some time to stop in Spokane, Washington and I squeezed in a quick city walk. I'd never spend much time in Spokane but the downtown looks pretty cool. I walked in the early morning on a Sunday so there were almost noone out except a couple of joggers. There some really nice hotels in the area and we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on the north side of the Spokane river.
From Wikipedia:
Spokane is a city in Spokane County in the state of Washington in the northwestern United States. It is located on the Spokane River west of the Rocky Mountain foothills in eastern Washington, 92 miles (148 km) south of the Canada–US border, 18 miles (30 km) from the Washington–Idaho border, and 228 miles (367 km) east of Seattle along Interstate 90.
Known as the birthplace of Father's Day, Spokane's official nickname is the Lilac City. A pink, double flower lilac variety known as Syringa vulgaris is named for the city. It is the seat of Spokane County and the economic and cultural center of the Spokane Metropolitan Area, the Spokane–Coeur d'Alene combined statistical area, and the Inland Northwest. The city, along with the whole Inland Northwest, is served by Spokane International Airport, 5 miles (8 km) west of downtown Spokane. According to the 2010 Census, Spokane had a population of 208,916, making it the second-largest city in Washington, and the 101st-largest city in the United States.
The first people to live in the area, the Spokane tribe (their name meaning children of the sun in Salishan), lived off plentiful game. David Thompson explored the area with the westward expansion and establishment of the North West Company's Spokane House in 1810. This trading post was the first long-term European settlement in Washington. Completion of the Northern Pacific Railway in 1881 brought settlers to the Spokane area. The same year it was officially incorporated as a city with the name of Spokane Falls (it was reincorporated under its current name ten years later). In the late 19th century, gold and silver were discovered in the Inland Northwest. The local economy depended on mining, timber, and agriculture until the 1980s. Spokane hosted the first environmentally themed World's Fair at Expo '74.
Many of the downtown area's older Romanesque Revival-style buildings were designed by architect Kirtland Kelsey Cutter after the Great Fire of 1889. The city also features Riverfront and Manito parks, the Smithsonian-affiliated Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, the Davenport Hotel, and the Fox and Bing Crosby theaters.
The Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Spokane, and the city is also the center of the Mormon Spokane Washington Temple District. The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist represents the Anglican community. Gonzaga University was established in 1887 by the Jesuits, and the private Presbyterian Whitworth University was founded three years later and moved to north Spokane in 1914
In sports, professional and semi-professional sports teams include the Spokane Indians in Minor League Baseball and Spokane Chiefs in junior ice hockey. The Gonzaga Bulldogs collegiate basketball team competes at the Division I level. As of 2010, Spokane's only major daily newspaper, The Spokesman-Review, had a daily circulation of over 76,000.

Adventures in Eastern Washington | Travel to Spokane and Quincy | Vlog 69 - Full Time Travel and RV Living
We explore Spokane and Quincy Washington and get to see an AMAZING fireworks show!
We explored the green bluff farm area north of Spokane and really had a good time. We particularly enjoyed Townshend Cellars wines! After that we crossed the bare desert of central Washington to stay in Quincy Washington. We stayed here because we were going on a tour of the Hanford site cleanup project (Video on that later) . We got to see a powerboat really on the Columbia River and it was so fun to watch the F18.... or maybe EA18's fly low through the gorge once or twice a day! While touring the quincy area we stumbled across a Farmer Consumer Awareness Day ( event going on where they were putting on a huge fireworks show that we greatly enjoyed. If you are in the area check out the show the second weekend in September, its really great!

Spokane - City Moments
Video documents the monotony of getting from point A to point B and the missed moments of interaction with the built environment.
Too often we forget to experience our city; take a moment and have an emotion about the simple act of opening a door or stepping off a sidewalk. How much richer would your life be if you did this?
Shot in downtown Spokane, all moments were documented on Main Street. Video created by Matthew Reeves and Tyler Troutman for a graduate architecture class at Washington State University in Spokane, WA.

My Extremist Illegal Activities in Spokane, WA Today
I traveled over 100 miles around Spokane today with no state issued license, registration, or plates and then I get back to hear that the Sheriff of Spokane County is equating Constitutionalists with terrorist groups. Hey Sheriff Ozzie... didn't you swear an oath to uphold and defend both the US and Washington state Constitutions???? For you to say that people who believe in YOUR (not OUR) constitution are terrorists makes you a traitor to the oath you swore to the people and also more of a terrorist than ANY Constitutionalist! You better wake up sheriff, this is not a good way to win support for your re-election.
See the story here -
Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich linked “rhetoric” from supporters of the U.S. Constitution to violent anti-government groups and ISIS this week in an exposé on the officer’s fight against “homegrown extremists.”
In an article featured in the August 2015 edition of the Inlander, the Washington state sheriff draws comparisons to the ISIS terrorist group while railing against everyone from Infowars’ Alex Jones to Washington State Rep. Matthew Shea.
“There are some of those folks that want to overthrow the government, period. They want to hit a reset button,” Knezovich said. “If they’re willing to lie to get that reset button — this is how ISIS starts.”
The Inlander piece highlights the sheriff’s ongoing campaign against local conservative groups who he feels are pushing dangerous rhetoric. When asked to specifically name those responsible, Knezovich pointed to both Rep. Shea and “all those folks that created the video about the Deputy.”
Knezovich’s statement refers to exclusive footage released by Infowars last December which highlighted unsettling comments made by a Spokane sheriff’s deputy as he stood next to the department’s mine-resistant ambush protected military vehicle (MRAP). After a local resident approached and questioned law enforcement’s need for military hardware, the deputy immediately used “constitutionalists” with “firearms” as justification.
“I mean, we’ve got a lot of constitutionalists and a lot of people that stockpile weapons, lots of ammunition,” the deputy said. “They have weapons here locally.”

The Cove - Spokane, Washington
We took a trip out to the west side of the states for a couple weeks and visited some really cool places in the Spokane area of Washington.
The three places that you will see in this video are Nine Mile Falls, Boulder Beach, and The Cove. All of these places are great locations to visit if you are ever near Spokane, WA.
Boulder Beach is a local area where people go to swim and use the rope swing, but the water is very cold.
Nine Mile Falls is great for hiking, sight seeing, and if you are up for the challenge, swimming is allowed here but like Boulder Beach the water is also cold.
The Cove has a variety of cliffs to jump off of ranging from five to sixty feet high. Also, unlike Boulder Beach and Nine Mile Falls, The Cove has very warm water.
