Dozmary Pool, Cornwall - final resting place of Excalibur? Phantom 3 4k DRONED!
Dozmary Pool is found in an atmospheric setting high on Bodmin Moor south of the Cornish town of Bolventor. According to local tradition, it was Dozmary Pool that Sir Bedivere finally threw Excalibur. After 3 attempts to relinquish the sword, he finally managed to comply with King Arthur's wish and threw it into the lake, an arm rose from the surface of lake, caught the sword and vanished back into the lake with it.
Arthur received his mortal wound at the Battle of Camlan. One of the possible sites for the Battle of Camlann is at Slaughter Bridge near the River Cam, which is only ten miles away from Dozmary Pool. Arthur may have held court at the nearby fort of Killibury Castle. Tintagel, where Arthur is said to have been born, is twenty miles away. So the area does have many Arthurian links.

We Went Kayaking In Dozmary Pool - Cornwall 2019
Welcome to For The Love Of Caravans....
Kayaking was so much fun but unfortunately due to a SD card failure we lost most of our vlog recordings. At least the most important bit survived. The kayak was great even if it was a Aldi special buy £40. Probably could of done with a bit more air than what we put in.
Thank you so much for watching and subscribing.

Cycling Cornwall. Over Bodmin Moor to Jamaica Inn. Part 1.
Starting at Liskeard, passing through Dobwalls village take a scenic ride through the countryside, crossing the River Fowey then over the moor to Colliford Lake, Dozmary Pool on to Bolventor & Jamaica Inn. Returning along the River Fowey to Golitha Falls & King Doniert's Stone before heading through St. Cleer back to Liskeard.
IF you want to do the ride make sure you pick a clear day without much wind as the weather on the moor can get rugged. Take a spare tube, pump & a drink because its sparsley inhabited. Allow a minimum of four to five hours to include refuel & respite at Jamaica Inn.
Liskeard is accessable from the A38 & mainline rail connection, so if you are outside of Cornwall a day trip is possible.
The route is well signposted. Go LISKEARD, through the village of DOBWALLS turning right at the mini roundabout follow the road all the way coming to a junction, follow the signs to Colliford Lake. Arriving at the junction near the lake, turn left to view it at the Dam. Then come back on yourself & follow the road along the side of the lake (to BOLVENTOR/A30) passing Dozmary pool to the right. 1 3/4 miles to Jamaica Inn.
Returning. Looking out from Jamaica Inn car park, turn left for a hundred yards. signposted right for GOLITHA FALLS & ST.CLEER its one easy road following the RIVER FOWEY down with only one hilly part nearing GOLITHA FALLS. Coming out of the car park its back on the road to a junction . Turn left up the hill to KING DONIERT'S STONE. Follow the road up. Its signposted left for ST.CLEER, through the village & off of the moor back through the town at LISKEARD.
Do the journey this way around as the return trip is more forgiving.

Rough Tor - Cornwall UK 4K
Rough Tor is approximately one mile northwest of Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point, on Bodmin Moor. Its summit is 1313 ft (400m) above mean sea level, making it the second highest point in Cornwall. Both hills are in the civil parish of St Breward, and near the town of Camelford. The De Lank River rises nearby and flows between the two hills. Rough Tor and Little Rough Tor are twin summits of a prominent ridge of granite, though there are actually three tors at the site: Showery Tor, Little Rough Tor, and Rough Tor. Crowdy Reservoir and the Lowermoor Water Treatment Works are not far away from the hill.

RAF Davidstow Moor
RAF Davidstow Moor, RAF Davidstow or Davidstow Airfield is an abandoned World War II RAF base near the village of Davidstow in Cornwall.
The RAF base opened in 1942 and closed in 1945 but was used again from the early 1950's to 1954 when it was a Motor Car Circuit. There are three runways and a road which goes across it.
Some of the most famous planes that were stationed at RAF Davidstow Moor were the Lockenheed Hudson and the Bristol Beaufighter.
Around 200 soldiers died on Bodmin Moor in WWII and the airfield and control tower are said to be haunted by the ghosts of the soldiers who died. People have heard planes but look up and see none. People have also heard people talking and footsteps when no one is around, people have felt sad and like they can never come back and people have even been touched and pushed by people who aren't there.
