Visiting Weingut Dr. Loosen - Episode #442
In this special edition of 1337 Wine TV, Mark starts his trip to ProWein in Germany with a quick visit to the Mosel and the Dr. Loosen winery. He sits down with Ernst Loosen and his nephew Daniel Emmes for what is essentially a master class on German riesling. Earlier in the day Daniel took Mark to a few of the iconic vineyards in the area. Why is the Mosel Bridge a problem for winegrowers?
Why is the High Mosel Bridge (Hochmoselbrücke) so problematic for winemakers in the Mosel Valley? Longtime opponent, winemaker Dr. Ernst Loosen explains his stance against the project, explaining that it's not so much the bridge but the highway that destroys forests along the top of the vineyard sites.
