這間藏身在幽暗小巷裡的英式酒吧STOCKTON神秘得似私竇，沒有門號也沒有招牌，店內的一書一畫都是店主所收藏的珍品及苦董；紅磚牆、水泥地、古董疏化、那些掛在牆上的動物標本，還有許多英國畫家DAN HILLIER的作品，足夠讓你相信自己被帶到一所18、19世紀的英式古老大宅。而這裡的雞尾酒以WHISKEY和RUM為主，而今次我們找來了STOCKTON的經理SURAJ GURUNG為我們推介及沖調這裡的SIGNATURE DRINKS，「KILL DEVIL」和「THE HAWTREY」。
'Poor Miller' Gossack Ghost ~Norton,County Durham, England
Norton is a village in the unitary authority of Stockton-on-Tees and the ceremonial county of County Durham, England.
In 1982, the chance discovery of human bones by school children playing on a rope swing near the Mill Lane area of the village, led to the unearthing of an Anglo-Saxon pagan cemetery. Excavations in 1984 revealed 120 burials (117 inhumations and 3 cremations) in graves that contained assorted personal items such as spears, belt buckles and brooches. The remains and objects collected suggest the site was dated to around AD 540–610.
The tale of 'poor miller' Gossack - one of Teesside's scariest ghost stories
The Norton water mill was situated on the edge of Billingham Bottoms approximately half-way between Norton and Billingham parish churches. The footpath over the A19 now occupies the site of Norton Mill.
A lengthy wedding reception for the daughter of the Norton miller, a Mr Thrattles was interrupted by a gentleman guest named Benson who recalled an incident during a previous gathering at Christmas time.
He had left the premises via an adjacent garden when talk centred on “poor miller Gossack” and his group stopped at the place where the fatality occurred. They then saw a dark figure heading towards them and blurted out a greeting.
The mysterious shape shot past at great speed with a hideous glare and blurted “good night gentleman” with flames pouring from its nose, eyes and ears to leave the onlookers transfixed.
The audience were dumbstruck but Mr Thrattles called for more drinks and card games and, according to Benson, proceedings were almost over when a rustling, hissing sound was heard at the end of the long table nearest the window.
At the same time, there arose from the floor the same horrid figure that the men had met in the lane. Everyone present saw it, but no one moved or spoke as it glared down with flaming, fiendish glances to leave all guests dumbstruck.
Benson and Thrattles then discussed the origins of the fearsome apparition which it seemed originated from an incident at Christmas 1879 when one of miller Gossack’s sons, George a medical student, played a practical joke on an unsuspecting housemaid.
He had brought home a human skeleton which he hung by wires in a dining room linen cupboard.
When the maid entered, instead of hanging on the door in front of her, it caught on the door and seized her by the neck causing her to collapse into a coma. She was committed to a Sheffield asylum.
Villagers turned against Gossack and forced him out of the Unicorn mill. He was then attacked by an axe-wielding stranger and a single blow left him fatally injured.
The murderer was arrested and turned out to be the maid’s grief-stricken father.
In July 1880 he was hanged at Durham Jail and it is said to be the ghost of his victim, George Gossack, that appears at the eastern end of Mill Lane.

It was a great turnout for the 2009 Delta Century. At least 450 people indured challenging wet roads for the 3 course ride through the great Delta river islands and farmlands. The Walnut Grove reststop offered hot drinks which was greatly appreciated by those that stopped by.
