Kiteboarding Wales - UK Park Jam - Rhosneigr
This October I headed up to North Wales for the last stop of the Kite Park League world series, in Rhosneigr on sunny Anglesey Island in North Wales.
A bit out of the way but it stands to deliver some of the most unique riding conditions of the season. Battling the big tides and variable weather to set up the park, we made it happen. This is the second year that the KPL has come to the UK and we made it work, scoring some epic days on the water and stacking the clips. With a ten day event getting 8 days of wind the riders couldn't have asked for more, with the sun out most days. With people coming from all over the globe to attend, it was one of the best RPJ events yet!
Riders coming from Russia, USA, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain, Canada and a big UK contingent it was great to it growing as we Finnish our second competitive season on the KPL. A big thanks goes out to all who made it happen and all of the sponsors for their support. Bring on 2018.

Rhyl promenade, past & present
At position 1.09 is the roller skating rink that used to be opposite Water Street, followed at 1.16 by short-lived promenade monorail which operated for only a few months in 1980. The Punch and Judy man using the logo 'E.G.' is Ted Green. The final picture shows Rhyl Silver Band on the prom (at Drift Park) in 2008. Slideshow compiled by Colin Jones.

Mute Swan supervising cygnets at shore
The Mute Swan on the Serpentine kept a careful watch over her five cygnets as they ate algae at the edge of the lake.
Beach storm damage - a week after
A short 2hr hunt on the beach about a week after one of the biggest storms this winter. No one can remember so much sand being taken away and the beach huts, some over 100 years old were washed away

Shore Fishing - Holyhead in Anglesey North Wales
On this fishing trip we headed to Anglesey in North Wales to do a bit shore fishing from the breakwater and rocks around Holyhead. In this first video you can see the holiday cottage that we stayed in (snowdon view holiday cottage) and then we are fishing from holyhead breakwater for the day. We were plagued with dog fish but it was still an enjoyable days fishing. More videos to follow of the rest of the trip.....
FLOODS AT BLUE ANCHOR WEST SOMERSET UK 4 JANUARY 2014.
With the storms changing away from high winds to greater water deposits, rivers are more than ever a source of overflowing water, as can be seen here at Blue Anchor's caravan park..
The popular Driftwood Café ( now celebrating 80 years in service!) is free of flooding I am glad to say but sitting on the seats outdoors is not very attractive at the moment! They now have proper double glazing rather than plastic sheeting in the covered outdoor area.
Marina Quay And Miniature Railway Vlog September 2018
Marina Quay is situated in Rhyl Wales. It is were the Ocean Beach Pleasure Beach used to be. It has undergone major redevelopment over the last few years and looks really good. In my opinion though it does need a major fairground/Funland once again with coasters and thrill rides with a variety of kids rides too.

New Mute Swan family on Serpentine
A new family of Mute Swans with five cygnets has appeared on the Serpentine. The nest was in the middle of the island, and it was impossible to see what was going on.
Irish Sea
The Irish Sea separates the islands of Ireland and Great Britain. It is connected to the Celtic Sea in the south by St George's Channel, and to the Inner Seas off the West Coast of Scotland in the north by the North Channel. Anglesey is the largest island within the Irish Sea, followed by the Isle of Man. The sea is occasionally, but rarely, referred to as the Manx Sea.
The sea is of significant economic importance to regional trade, shipping and transport, fishing, and power generation in the form of wind power and nuclear plants. Annual traffic between Great Britain and Ireland amounts to over 12 million passengers and 17 million tonnes of traded goods.
