Dance in Drum Tower Square in Nanjing China 12 Sep 2012
Dance in Drum Tower Square in Nanjing China near Gulou Subway station 12 Sep 2012
Was on my way back to the hotel Intercontinental in Nanjing in the evening and came to a park where there was dancing for everyone who wanted to dance.
The park is called Drum Tower Square and is across the street as seen from the hotel.
They danced Line Dance in one place and something like Tango and Bug on the paved surface below.
Tested to invite up and dance a little and it went pretty well.
Everyone was happy and nice but it was a bit hard to make oneself understood because no one spoke English except for a few words.
This is some of the films that I took with the the system camera (Nikon D7000).
Unfortunately, it was almost no light so the movies were dark and grainy.
Sometimes, the area was highlighted by a giant screen on the wall behind which showed advertising.

Dancing in Nanjing Drum Tower Square Park - Different Cultures & Minorities like Uyghurs un China ????
This video was recorded in the summer of 2019 in Nanjing City. The Drum Tower of Nanjing (simplified Chinese: 南京鼓楼; traditional Chinese: 南京鼓樓; pinyin: Nánjīng gǔlóu) on Gulou Mountain in the Gulou District of downtown Nanjing, was first built in the 15th year of the reign of Hongwu, of the Ming Dynasty (1382 AD).
The Drum Tower, which is an important part of Drum Tower Park, is 44 meters long, 22 meters wide and 30 meters high. Its shape is like a Chinese traditional city gate, with a square foundation pedestal made of stone. In the pedestal, there are three arch gateways, one larger in the middle and two smaller on the side. In the side gateways, there are four side-rooms, which were guarded by the imperial drumming officers with hundreds of soldiers during the ancient dynasty. On the pedestal is a red two-story watch tower, made of wood and bricks, which was a sacred place to hold some important ceremonies, such as giving a correct time, welcoming honorable guests, offering sacrifices to the god, and others.

The Drum Tower of Xi'an in Shaanxi province of China
The Drum Tower of Xi'an (西安鼓楼), located in the heart of Xi'an in Shaanxi province of China, along with the Bell Tower is a symbol of the city. Erected in 1380 during the early Ming Dynasty, it stands towering above the city center and offers incredible view of Xi'an.
The Drum Tower got its name from the huge drum located within the building. In contrast to the Bell Tower, where bell was stricken at dawn, drum was beat at sunset to indicate the end of the day.

Zhanshan Temple (Chinese: 湛山寺; pinyin: Zhànshān Sì; German: Dschanschan Tempel)
Zhanshan Temple (Chinese: 湛山寺; pinyin: Zhànshān Sì; German: Dschanschan Tempel) is a Buddhist temple in Qingdao, Shandong, China. It is located on the southern side of Zhanshan (literally 'clear' or 'deep mountain'), facing the sea.
The monastery was built in 1945 and is an active, functional Buddhist sanctuary. Apart from the Stupa and the Olympic Mascot Bell Tower, located on the right-hand side of the grounds, the remaining buildings are situated in a rectangular format. To the right of the entry portal is one of the several Buddhist scripture shops. Here, incense sticks and other Buddhist supplies are available for purchase. Adjacent the scripture shop is a Bell Tower (zhonglou; 钟楼) with the first of many statues of Buddha. At the right of the entry is the Drum Tower (gulou; 鼓楼) with another Buddha.
Returning to the central path, directly ahead is the Heavenly King Hall (tianwang dian; 天王殿). The large Buddha, which is the focal point of this shrine, is flanked by four large statues, one depicting a pipa player. Directly behind Heavenly King Hall is the larger Hall of Sakyamuni (大雄宝殿),which honors the founder of Buddhism, the son of a king of the Sakya clan of the Kshatriya (i.e., warriors). His given name was Siddhartha, his family name, Gautama. The epithet “Sakyamuni” means “sage of the Sakyas.” In this magnificent hall, a large, central Buddha is flanked by two smaller statues, each attended by eight priests. This hall is an active place of prayer equipped with cushions for kneeling, candles for lighting incense, and other Buddhist prayer supplies.
Behind the Hall of Sakyamuni is the Hall of Three Saints (san sheng dian; 三圣殿). In the center of the hall are three large, gilded statues, each about twelve feet in height.
Continuing along the central path, the next building is the Preaching Hall (shengtang; 圣堂). To the left of Preaching Hall is the Hall of the Recumbent Buddha (wo fo dian; 卧佛殿), where, behind a long, gilded altar, a gilded, bejeweled statue of Buddha stretches out almost twenty feet in length.
Opposite the Hall of the Recumbent Buddha is the Shandong Zhanshan Buddhist College (Shandong Zhanshan Fo xue yuan; 山东湛山佛学院). To the right of the Hall of the Recumbent Buddha is the headquarters of the Qingdao Buddhist Association, Tiantai sect, (Qingdao fojiao xiehui; 青岛市佛教协会). Exiting the monastery grounds, one passes the Olympic Mascot Bell (ao yun jixiang zhong; 奥运吉祥钟)The view from the top of this bell tower is panoramic; however, there is an additional fee of 10 元 to see that view.
The 8 April of the lunar calendar is traditionally observed as the birthday of the Buddha. On that day, thousands of Buddhists flock to the monastery grounds to attend religious events.
In 2004 a major renovation was initiated. As of June 2009, the renovation remains in progress.

A typical Chinese public dispute/fight at my metro/train stop in Gulou, Nanjing. This altercation is between a male and a female, and I believe it is over who did what in line. If I had a dime for every person I saw bicker and fight like this in China.....
It went on for about an hour.

Nanjing
Nanjing ( listen; Chinese: 南京; pinyin: Nánjīng; Wade–Giles: Nan-ching) is the capital of Jiangsu province in Eastern China. It has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture, having been the capital of China for several periods. Its present name means Southern Capital and was widely romanized as Nankin and Nanking until the pinyin language reform, after which Nanjing was gradually adopted as the standard spelling of the city's name in most languages that use the Roman alphabet.
Located in the lower Yangtze River drainage basin and Yangtze River Delta economic zone, Nanjing has long been one of China's most important cities. Having been the capital city of six different dynasties since 3 A.D., it is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. It was the capital of Wu during the Three Kingdoms Period, and the capital of the Republic of China prior to its flight to Taiwan during the Chinese Civil War. Nanjing is also one of the fifteen sub-provincial cities in the People's Republic of China's administrative structure, enjoying jurisdictional and economic autonomy only slightly less than that of a province. Nanjing has long been a national centre of education, research, transport networks and tourism. The city will host the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
