Amazing Tsunami in Dublin Bay Ireland!
As I was shooting this video I could see that the water was disappearing fast! This is the 'pre-effect' of a Tsunami where the volume of water displaced by the event, (here the ship), quickly draws out all other water so seabed goes dry and then very quickly fills again with the tsunami wave. Shows how dangerous a tsunami is and how fast it moves and can catch people out!
I am, by the way, a scientist! It's a tsunami but on a micro scale. I'm demonstrating the effect that can be seen all over the world where ships sail on a relatively shallow draft.

Sailing to Dublin, Ireland
Hi Guys,
In this video I took a cruise offered by Dublin Bay Cruise to the Dublin City center, we sailed on the Irish Sea from Dun Laoghaire and got to the city center. After this we walked around the city center, our first stop being the the famine memorial dublin. We visited the Trinity College Dublin grounds and took some photos there. Our attempts to get to Temple bar for the first time failed as there were no tables available but none the less we finished our day on a high note. At the end of the video I realized the video covered some interesting things to do in Dublin, especially if you are visiting Ireland for the first time.

Dublin Bay Marine Mammal Acoustic Survey (Short Film)
The IWDG began an historic acoustic monitoring survey in UNESCO designated Dublin Bay Biosphere as 2016 came to a close. It is part of the Alexandra Basin Redevelopment Project marine mammal mitigation plan. This short film captures the deployment of high-tech underwater listening devices which will help scientists understand any impact on porpoise living in the Bay area.

Dublin Bay Cruises sail between Dun Laoghaire and Howth up to six times a day from March to October. Your 90 min trip with us brings you not only around the beautiful vista of Dublin Bay, but it also helps you to travel through time and to understand how and why the modern city of Dublin developed to become the capital city of Ireland.
The St Bridget is the ship we use to sail in Dublin Bay, it is a 26 meter long steel hulled vessel which is fully certified by the Department of Transport Marine Survey Office.
It is equipped with sea survival and fire fighting equipment and all crew are trained to the highest standards as required by the Department of Transport.

Sailing Dublin Bay
Bits and clips from several sailing trips we made around Dublin Bay in the past few months. We sail from Greystones, to Dun Laoghaire, around Kisch Lighthouse then into the Liffey and past the Poolbeg Towers. Then we head back the way we came but go to north to Malahide instead.

Dublin Bay: Ireland
Dublin Bay is one of my favourite places in the world.
In the summer swim in its soupy green waters and enjoy its vigorous embrace.
In the winter stroll on its shores and watch the storms rage over the Irish Sea.

Kayaking with Dolphins Killiney Bay, Dublin, Ireland. September 27th 2010
Please excuse the panting, I was paddling pretty hard.
I was paddling today about 12pm, passing hawk cliff heading north towards Sorrento Point. Up ahead I say a massive splash and presumed someone had done a huge jump into the sea, then I spotted another splash and this one was attached to a massive dolphin. I realised that they were coming straight for me so I decided to turn and go the same direction. In short I got the full dolphin treatment, from Sorrento to Bray/Shankil. I got the whole show acrobatic leaping, spinning in the air right beside the boat, swimming underneath and popping up a foot or two away. One strange performance was one of the dolphins caught a fish and was tossing it and caching it again repeatedly. I had left my waterproof camera behind (of all the days!) so I had to risk my phone to get a few shots, which is dodgy when big beastys are leaping all around you. good fun

Dublin Bay. Ireland.
A Painting I am working on of the sun setting in Dublin Bay Ireland. I love the colours that nature gives us and have tried to emulate them here.
The great thing about oil paints is that you can re-work them over and over, knowing when to stop helps too.
The painting is nearly finished. I have to soften the orange a bit and sharpen some detail.
This is my first attempt using Windows Movie Maker.
I do not own the rights to the music and do not pretend to. Soundtrack is Peter Gabriel OVO. 'The Nest That Sailed The Sky'. REALWORLD Music Ltd 1999.
