The Olive Tree Studio is a serene space in central Dublin, where you can pause and take a time out to replenish both body and mind. Nestling in the basement of a beautiful 19th century house on leafy Grantham Street, The Olive Tree Studio is 1 minute away from the urban bustle of Camden Street, Dublin 2, yet a world away from the stresses of city life.
At The Olive Tree we provide an eclectic mix of classes & workshops, from Yoga, Dance & Pilates to Martial Arts, Feldenkrais & MELT Method for adults and children. Our therapies range from Massage & Reiki to Acupuncture & Tarot. We aim to provide excellence with a personal touch, keeping our classes small, for individual attention. We welcome people of all ages and abilities.
Our younger visitors are especially welcome to our dance, theatre and Dublin yoga classes. Please join us and bring the peace, symbolised by the olive tree, into your life. Estelle Birdy

Yoga Dublin - Winning With Web
For Yoga Dublin, the journey started twelve years ago when owner Colm Walsh began teaching yoga classes in a local school hall in Baggot Street.
From that point, Yoga Dublin has steadily grown and now has three yoga studios, over 120 weekly classes, workshops and events which covers Pilates, Tai Chi, Zumba, and a number of complementary treatments such as deep tissue/sports massage, reiki, reflexology, and more.
With three studios to run - in Ranelagh, Dundrum, and Rathfarnham village - significant coordination and promotion to keep things ticking over is required. It was with this in mind that Colm turned to the cloud and mobile apps to help him to manage and expand his business beyond the norms and traditions of the yoga studio.
Colm established Yoga Dublin's online presence in 2004 to display and market classes; three years on they signed into the cloud based 'MindBody' online booking, payment and resource management system, a system which reduces staff time spent with booking and phone payments. This process also allows him to maximise studio staff resources and thus increasing class attendance. Colm says that having this facility available to clients 24/7, means that the business can grow and payments can be taken without the reliance on human resources.
Using the online booking system has helped expand our business over four years, and provides top class service to our client base by enabling efficient online booking, payments, and now mobile apps. Our clients love it, and we can keep our classes busy!
From there, Colm went on to establish his social networking channels for Yoga Dublin. They now have almost 3500 followers on Facebook and almost 500 Twitter followers as well as a presence on YouTube, an online shop and a number of iPhone apps.
Colm recognises the benefits and potential of small traditional businesses having an online presence our business traditionally happens behind closed doors but using the internet has allowed us to expand our reach and make what we are about more accessible to our potential audience. It has really enhanced our core business. We mainly use Facebook to create a buzz which seems to react with our website, online timetables, and now our Mobile Booking App to increase traffic and class sign-ups
As a result of this increase Colm has greatly increased the number of sub-contractors and teachers' hours monthly and created some full-time/part-time admin positions in the studios.
The way we see it is; the easier we make life for our customers, the easier we make it for ourselves. The convenience of having an online presence is key in my business. People are busy, and life is chaotic so if our customers need to cancel or create a booking, or if they just want information and we can streamline that process then that's what we'll do & everyone wins.

Do you know of a small business that is winning sales and growing because they have transformed their business by getting online?
Our organisation, which manages The Digital Hub in Dublin, is searching for businesses from all over Ireland that once operated according to a traditional business model and have now transformed their business by migrating to the web. We are looking for positive stories about such businesses; stories that will counter the doom and gloom and inspire others. We want to showcase and promote these businesses by creating a library of case studies and profiles of them.
If you know of any business that is 'Winning With Web', please email us their details and we will follow up with the company directly. Featured businesses will benefit from being included on our online roll-call of local businesses that are 'Winning With Web'. They will be profiled online and case studies on them will be promoted via this website, our newsletter, our social networks (such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube), and national, regional and local press.
What are we looking for?
Small businesses nationwide that have survived, grown, expanded and transformed using the web.
The business must be registered in Ireland.
The business can operate in any sector.
The business does not necessarily have to demonstrate that it increased its workforce, but that would be a bonus.
Similarly, the business does not have to demonstrate that it is exporting internationally, but if it is we would like to know where its markets are.
We are especially keen to hear about businesses in the regions and not just the greater Dublin area, although we do want to find out about those too.

Vegan Adventures in Dublin
For this video, I got to show my friend around some of the fantastic spots for vegan food in Dublin city centre. Dublin is an absolutely fantastic spot for vegan eats, and I'll definitely be posting more videos showing what's on offer!
Govindas is a gorgeous little vegetarian spot in the city centre, and most of the dishes there every day are vegan too! The portions are massive, and it's amazing value for money. Find it on Middle Abbey Street (that's where we went) and Aungier Street.
Milanos is a great spot. It's an omni Italian chain, but they're great for accommodating vegans. All the dough is vegan-friendly, so that means their fantastic dough balls and pizzas can be enjoyed by everyone! I'm pretty sure they do gluten free dough on request too :) For the dough balls, just replace the garlic butter with olive oil and/or balsamic, and for the pizzas you can either ask for no cheese, or bring your own vegan cheese (in a new, sealed pack) and they'll make it with that for you!
Here's the absolute must-watch video from Vegan Geezer that inspired me to start up this channel. Definitely take a look!
