The Spirituality of the Timbisha Shoshone People
(Location: Lida, Nevada)
Pauline Esteves, Timbisha Shoshone elder, speaks about the spiritual connection her people have with their homelands spanning through parts of California and Nevada.
The Timbisha Shoshone Tribe is filing a lawsuit seeking to overturn an Act of Congress that threatens to take a fund of money belonging to the Timbisha Shoshone and the Western Shoshone Nation as a whole.
A successful lawsuit could mean that Congress could not in the future take Indian property and funds unless it complied with the Constitution and paid fair compensation. Indian Nations could have much greater ability to manage their affairs if they could stop the United States government's illegal taking of their property.

Paiute Movie
The Paiute tribe lived in small family groups in small camps of grass houses or temporary wiki ups. They spent most of their time gathering seeds, fishing and hunting especially for migratory ducks. The tribe used canoes to travel across the waters. The Great Basin social and cultural patterns of the Paiute tribe were those of the non-horse bands. The neighbouring tribes of the Paiute included the Koso, Washoe, Panamint, Walapi, Ute and the Shoshone tribes. The white settlers that rushing to reach the California Gold fields or the Comstock Lode silver passed through Paiute lands. Some traders and settlers decided to stay in the area, cut down trees ruining the Pine Nut forests and trampling across the grasses that had once provided the Paiute with their means to survive. In 1858, the Paiute tribe allied with the Coeur d'Alene in a 2 year war against the white invaders. After initial successes in the Pyramid Lake War of 1860, they were defeated. The Paiute tribe again came to the fore when Wovoka (c. 1856–1932) a Northern Paiute shaman who founded the Ghost Dance movement.

DEATH VALLEY - Documentary
Death Valley is a desert valley located in Eastern California. It is one of the hottest places in the world at the height of summertime along with deserts in Africa and in the Middle East. Death Valley's Badwater Basin is the point of the lowest elevation in North America, at below sea level. This point is east-southeast of Mount Whitney, the highest point in the contiguous United States with an elevation of 14,505 feet . Death Valley's Furnace Creek holds the record for the highest reliably recorded air temperature in the world, 134 °F on July 10, 1913. This has been contested by other weather experts. Located near the border of California and Nevada, in the Great Basin, east of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Death Valley constitutes much of Death Valley National Park and is the principal feature of the Mojave and Colorado Deserts Biosphere Reserve. It is located mostly in Inyo County, California. It runs from north to south between the Amargosa Range on the east and the Panamint R...

Western Nevada- Part 4/4 (CAVES, PETROGLYPHS & GEYSERS)
On this adventure, Brian takes you through one of the most underrated states in the country. Known largely for its legal gambling and prostitution and miles of arid sageland, most visitors to the state never venture beyond the neon streets of Reno and Vegas. However, Brian quickly discovers that there is much more to Nevada then meets the eye.
In the exciting conclusion of this epic adventure, Brian visits the hidden wonders of Nevada's northwestern deserts. Leaving the juniper forests behind him, Brian travels to Sand Mountain, where he visits the ruins of an old Pony Express station. Next, he explores the Grimes Point Archaeological Area, home to one of the largest concentrations of Native American rock art in North America. He then explores the region's basalt caves, where he encounters some of the strangest geology he's ever seen. Brian then sets off for the Black Rock Desert, stopping at Pyramid Lake and the Gerlach Hot Springs, before concluding his journey at the spectacular Fly Geyser.

Abandoned Underground Houses, The Amargosa Opera House, and Area 51 rest stop
Mysterious troglodyte homes, A Haunted Opera house, Area 51 Aliens, We had to cover a lot of ground today en route to a secret location, but that doesn't mean we don't have plenty to see! Then on to Death Valley Junction, where a former railroad stop for the Borax mines led to an amazing adobe hotel also abandoned for years before becoming the home of one-woman ballet shows and the most AMAZING (and reportedly... HAUNTED) opera house you could stumble across in the old west. Finally we cross into Nevada and are greeted by the World's LARGEST Firecracker, and Their Alien neighbors at the AREA 51 travel stop! It's an interesting Alien gift and fuel stop for us, but it's got it's... peculiarities. ALL THIS in today's action packed Randomland Adventure covering more than 50 miles of desert oddities!

Museum Shoshone; milk processing, Union Pacific donation; train town; Idaho
The train station donation $2,000 to the museum and the museum decided to spend the money quickly on tech equipment for conducting interviews and making presentations.
The curator said that the town was built on prostitution and the names of the streets were slang names for prostitutes.
