Cruising Around Croatian Islands
While relaxing for a week in Croatia, we discovered a one-day boat tour by chance and chose to go on it the following day. We aren’t usually tour people, but this tour blew us away and was completely worth it.
The tour was through Plavi Val. With them, we went to the Kornati National Park where we cruised around the area, went swimming on a white sand beach (VERY rare in Croatia) called Levernaka, explored the park itself, and had some glorious coffee in an adorable small town called Sali.
On top of the phenomenal excursions, we were provided a free scrumptious lunch and UNLIMITED WINE. Yeah. It was kind of a dream come true!

Where to stay near Dubrovnik - Zaton
Season 2 Episode 3 - We found a great place to stay just outside of Dubrovnik that is not only affordable, but absolutely stunning as well. Zaton is set in a natural harbour and is so much more relaxing than Dubrovnik's crowds.
We stayed in the area on our last visit in 2014, and happily, not much has changed. We explore the rugged peninsula in search of the rope swing we found last time, and swim and chill in the Adriatic Sea.
We stayed in a wonderful Airbnb hosted by our new friend Iva, who not only was generous and friendly but also cooked us a batch of brownies on our arrival. Here's the link to here great apartment:
Kayaking in Dubrovnik, Croatia
This footage is from a quick kayak trip around the walls of the old city in Dubrovnik, Croatia. There are lots of tours and most are longer but we just took a quick tour around the outskirts of the city to get a different perspective of the place.
A different perspective indeed - wow!

Approaching the Port of Dubrovnik, Croatia - Time Lapse film from the MSC Divina - 3rd August, 2012
This film features high definition time lapse footage taken from the 9th deck of the cruise ship MSC Divina as it approaches the port in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik. The footage begins at Zaton and shows Lozica and the 8 motorway Lozica Ul, as well as the beginnings of Dubrovnik. The coastal mountains, hills and forests are in full view as well as the Adriatic Sea and passing boats. Unfortunately the ship turned and reversed, so I did not get The Franjo Tuđman Bridge in this particular footage, but it does show the island of Daksa.
Dubrovnik Photography | Croatia Travel Vlog
I started this day pumped because I was inspired by my own vlogs that I was editing. I enjoyed watching the parts where I had the wireless lav on me and I was thinking out loud of a photograph that I was trying to capture. It was nice because I do not have to constantly projecting toward the camera to get my audio, so I was able to stay focused on the photo I was trying to take. I started off the vlog by using the wireless microphone so that I could show the audience the difference but I did not realize that the microphone was rubbing against my backpack strap which caused bad audio…………
This happened the whole day and I also did not realize that this rubbing was happening when I was walking through the photo below.
Basically, I was waiting until I could get 1 single person walking up the stairs. It was challenging because people would always walk in groups, so I had to sit and wait until a solo person came. I did play around with my composition a little because right in front of me, there was also a sidewalk, so I could have had one person walking there and the other on the wall. But I could not line it up properly.
Overall, I did enjoy shooting around Dubrovnik. I loved the colors and contrast that came from my images. The one below, I did play around with long exposure to make the water look milky. I think for next time, I don't want my shutter as long because I think the water is too soft. But that image is what I ended up with because where I was, I was blocking foot traffic. So I had to get the shot and move on.
In the vlog, I talk about how I am thinking about doing beginner photography/videography tutorials because I want to show that a person does not need an expensive camera to get a good image. My girlfriend LIA has a canon T6i with the kit lens and a 50mm f/1.8, which is a beginner dslr setup. I would use her setup and do some tutorials and show how I get good results with her camera.
Since Lia is also learning photography and videography, I was thinking of somehow documenting her process of learning those crafts. I have not figured out exactly how I want to document it, but I do like how I just ask her questions about what photo she is trying to achieve. I figure out her thought process and help her if she needs help.
I am also thinking about doing the same thing with the iPhone. In my later vlogs in Greece, I use the iPhone because I felt it was the right tool at that given time. I will typically vlog off of my iPhone if I do not feel like bringing out my big camera or if it is a travel day. On travel days, I do not want to deal with trying to take out my gear, so I used my iPhone. Looking over the results from the iPhone, I am actually surprised by some of the images I was able to capture. But more on the iphone later.

Dolphins @ Zaton Bay (27.09-18.10) Dubrovnik 2013
Meeting a dolphin causes a change of brain waves from alpha to theta state of mind to 80% of people. Theta state of mind is a state of an expanded consciousness, similar to the deep states of meditation. Meeting a dolphin creates a deep feeling of peace, relaxation, increases the ability to learn and understand how we are all just part of a larger Universe. Meeting a dolpin also harmonizes both brain hemispheres, which people usually don't have synchronized, whereas the dolphins do.
