Duchesnay Falls - North Bay, Ontario, Canada
Duchesnay Fall is located just to the west of North Bay, Ontario, Canada, on the way toward Sudbury. Right next to the Trans Canada Highway, the waterfall can go unnoticed from the road because of the twists and turns of the long cascade.
Both sides of the waterfall, with all its drops and pools, via trails that are part of a system that extends from Nipissing University and Canadore College. Duchesnay Creek empties into Lake Nipissing a short distance away. The lake can be seen from vantage points along the waterfall.
This an excellent spot for photography with a multitude of backdrops. Long exposure water blur opportunities abound so remember to bring your tripod and ND filters.

Duchesnay Creek, North Bay, Ontario | 360 Video
Duchesnay Creek is the source of Duchesnay Falls located just west of North Bay along Hwy 17. Like many of the waterfalls on the Canadian Shield, this is a long cascade consisting of many drops and several twists and turns. The two largest drops are each around 15 feet high. In high water the falls forms two main channels, but when I visited the east channel was dry. You can explore every inch of this waterfall by walking and climbing along the rocks. There are no fences.
Duchesnay Falls starts as a series of low, picturesque cascades on the river. The river soon breaks into two main channels, each which tumbles over several different waterfalls. The west channel carries well over half of the river's discharge and has two main waterfalls.

Duchesnay Falls group run part 1
This trail is a loop of approximately 3 km. Duchesnay Falls starts as a series of low, picturesque cascades on the river. The river soon breaks into two main channels, each which tumbles over several different waterfalls. The west channel carries well over half of the river's discharge and has two main waterfalls.
The lower falls on the west branch is the largest of all at Duchesnay, and is a cascade that falls roughly 8 to 10 m and is close to the same width at its base. The lower falls grades into the upper falls, which is a long cascade that drops roughly 10 m to over 20 m. Hikers can walk right to the edge of the upper falls, by diverting off the main trail and carefully walking out across the exposed bedrock.
Be cautious! There aren't any steep drop-offs, but the rocks can be slippery when wet, and there are no fences at any of the falls. This trail will provide opportunity for gorgeous photography in autumn. This trail hooks up with the Education Centre Trails in many places. Signs indicate all the trail hook ups

North Bay Duchesnay Falls1 Oct 25 2009
A hike, a run up along the North side of the Duchesnay Falls, just outside of North Bay Ontario Canada with a long time friend, Adam, who being a native to the area, knows the trails very well. Keeping up to Adam is a feat in itself, considering he has run the Boston Marathon, and is a distance runner in the most incredible of conditions. The falls were running very fast and strong due to the amount of rain the area had seen in the past several days. According to Adam, in the mid-summer, if the season has been dry, one can very easily walk across a very tranquil stream where the torrent seen here is going on.
