Watch more How to Own a Gun videos:
If that bare spot on your mantle is in need of a trophy buck, this guide will get you on your way by helping you get the proper permits.
Step 1: Determine type of license
Determine what type of license you need. Factors to consider include your age, experience, and the type of wildlife you intend to hunt.
Tip
Check online with your state's Department of Natural Resources or Wildlife Department for restrictions and qualifications.
Step 2: Visit a location
Go to an authorized vendor, such as an outdoor supplies store, big box store, or a firearm supply store. You can also visit your state's Department of Natural Resources or Wildlife Department office to get your license.
Step 3: Bring your ID
Bring your state identification card or your driver's license when you purchase a hunting permit in person. Most states allow persons under 17-years old to get a license with an ID, but requirements vary by region.
Step 4: Use a previous permit
Use a previous year's permit to get a new license if you forgot your ID, don't have one, or would just like to renew without any changes.
Tip
Some states offer a lifetime pass to eliminate the hassle of renewing each year.
Step 5: Purchase online
Purchase your hunting license online through your state's website using a credit card if you can't go in person.
Tip
Most states will e-mail your license, which you can print, but some will mail it. Plan ahead in you're in a rush.
Step 6: Plan for cost
Plan to spend between $10 and $150 per permit depending on the season, weapon, and type of game. Happy hunting!

Liane Russell's Interview
Liane B. Russell is a renowned geneticist. Born in Vienna, Austria, she and her family managed to flee the country after its annexation by Nazi Germany. After moving to the United States, Russell became interested in biological research. In 1947, she and her husband, William L. Russell, moved to Oak Ridge. In this interview, Russell explains her experiments on the effects of radiation at Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s “Mouse House,” including the discovery that the Y chromosome is sex-determining. She describes her work with the environmental movement and the efforts of Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning, which she co-founded. She also recalls winning the Enrico Fermi Award from the Department of Energy and a visit to communist East Germany in the 1980s.

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

SUMMARY
=======
The Wilmington insurrection of 1898, also known as the Wilmington massacre of 1898 or the Wilmington race riot of 1898, occurred in Wilmington, North Carolina on November 10, 1898. It is considered a turning point in post-Reconstruction North Carolina politics. The event initiated an era of more severe racial segregation and effective disenfranchisement of African Americans throughout the South, a shift already underway since passage by Mississippi of a new constitution in 1890, raising barriers to voter registration. Laura Edwards wrote in Democracy Betrayed (2000): What happened in Wilmington became an affirmation of white supremacy not just in that one city, but in the South and in the nation as a whole, as it affirmed that invoking whiteness eclipsed the legal citizenship, individual rights, and equal protection under the law of blacks. It was originally described by white Americans as a race riot caused by blacks. However, over time, with more facts publicized, the event has come to be seen as a coup d'état, the
violent overthrow of a duly elected government. Multiple causes — social, political, and economic — brought it about. It is the only such incident in American history. The coup occurred after the state's white Democratic Party conspired and led a mob of 2,000 white men to overthrow the legitimately-elected local Fusionist government. They expelled opposition black and white political leaders from the city, destroyed the property and businesses of black citizens built up since the Civil War, including the only black newspaper in the city, and killed an estimated 60 to more than 300 people.

How zip codes helped organize America
Zip codes, explained.
Subscribe to our channel!
Zip codes were invented in 1963 to help the United States Postal Service deal with huge increases in mail volume. The Zone Improvement Plan, or “ZIP” code system of addressing, organized mail delivery by dividing the country into 10 regions and assigning five digits increasing in specificity: from region to large sorting centers to smaller post offices. To promote the new system, the USPS released publicity materials featuring Mr. Zip, a cartoon character, and a song about zip codes from a band called The Swingin’ Six.
As the nation grew, the USPS updated zip codes by adding a four-digit suffix in 1983. The new suffix corresponds to specific destinations, such as one side of a street or a certain floor of an office building. Now, geocoding technology has created the possibility of even more specific addressing.

Cruise Line Updates Regarding Seattle Jamaica Virgin Voyages Viking Cruises San Juan and Pickle Ball
Cruise Line Updates Regarding Seattle Jamaica Virgin Voyages Viking Cruises San Juan and Pickle Ball The Alaska Cruise season is about to begin and Seattle is ready to recieve a record number of cruisers. Last year over 1 million passengers and their luggage came through town and brought lots of cash to spend in the area. Hotels, airports, rental car agencies, restaurants and all those
Starbucks locations welcomed the tourists with open arms. The new Norwegian Bliss will make Seattle it's home for the summer season and 4000 passengers a week will climb onboard this new ship and enjoy all of it's new features. Jamaica has just set a new record for tourist visits, but the country remains under a state of emergency. Cruise passengers can only visit private isolated ports with armed security guards present as the large cities and the countryside is too unstable for visitors. Virgin Voyages meanwhile has had to stop accepting $500 cruise deposits for it's first ship out of Miami in 2020 due to demand. The cruise line will focus all of it's energies towards a younger aged crowd but not allow anyone under 18 to board. The demographic seems to be 25 to 50. Lots of activities are planned for each cruise out of Miami to the Caribbean. Viking Cruises has a sale on right now for those passengers who enjoy a quiete cruise. You can get free airfare to the ship from all major airports in the US plus a few from Canada if you reserve an 8 day cruise in the caribbean for Nov 2018. These cruises depart from San Juan Puerto Rico and that might explain why there is a deal offered for these cruises. San Juan is still in a fragile state from the Hurricanes last fall and flights in and out are dicey. Attention all Pickle Ball Players! Holland America, Princess, and Regent Cruises have installed Pickle Ball courts onnboard their ships and within 2 years almost all cruise lines will have pickle ball onboard. It is becoming a very popular sport among the 50 and older crowd.

A New Birth of Freedom: Abraham Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation (Lecture)
The Emancipation Proclamation remains one of the most misunderstood and controversial events of the American Civil War. Many today still debate its legality and what it accomplished. Did Lincoln truly believe in the document, or was it simply a war measure meant to end the war quicker? What did the Emancipation Proclamation do and what did it mean? Join Ranger Dan Vermilya to address these questions and more, as we discuss what Lincoln called the central act of my administration, and the great event of the 19th century.
