One of Ireland's most bizzare hidden gems.

Duckett's Grove is a ruined 19th-century great house and former estate in County Carlow, Ireland. Belonging to the Duckett family, it was formerly at the centre of a 12,000-acre estate, that dominated the landscape of the area for hundreds of years. The interior of the house was destroyed by a fire in the 1930s and is now inaccessible.

The Building Is huge and imposing and juts out of the Landscape in a somewhat intimidating way. The estates sordid history lends to it's sombre and slightly unnerving feel. The site is believed to be haunted and attracts many tourists throughout the year.

This place has to be seen to be believed, it resonates with the tone of the Winchester house as it's architecture and placement do not seem to belong in the quiet Irish countryside. It's a mixture of period correct and revival gothic architecture complete with grotesques and large tower which looms above everything else in sight.

Crows seem to guard this site, hundreds of them have made the building and surrounding tress their home. their loud caws and the wind will be the only thing that breaks the stillness in this haunting part of our country.
