Castle of Park Banff | castle wedding venue | scottish highland wedding
Castle of Park in Banff is the ideal location for an intimate Scottish castle wedding in Scotland.
This romantic pink castle, the earliest part of which dates from 1530, was the home of the Gordon-Duff family until the late 20th century.
The current owners, Neil & Rebecca Campbell Wilson took over the castle with 40 acres of grounds in 2007.
After completely restoring the interior of the castle to its former glory by filling it with Antique furniture and hanging the walls with their collection of mainly British Romantic Art, they began the task of bringing the garden back to life.
The garden, which had undergone considerable landscaping in Victorian times, still boasts picturesque waterfalls, several ponds, an orchard, woodland walks, a laburnum avenue and a rhododendron tunnel. These features are all perfect as a wedding backdrop for any couples big day.
Castle of Park is a beautiful setting for any Venue and some parts of the castle are available for wedding guests, including the bridal suite. There is also plenty of space to erect a marquis in the grounds of the castle.
If you are looking for an unforgettable, picturesque setting for your wedding, Castle of Park will meet all your expectations as a Scottish weding venue.

Old Photographs Macduff Aberdeenshire Scotland
Tour Scotland wee video of photographs of Macduff, Aberdeenshire. Macduff is a former burgh and is now the only place in the United Kingdom where deep water wooden fishing boats are still built. William Duff became the first Earl Fife. In 1760, James Duff, the second Earl built a harbour here and in 1783 succeeded in promoting Macduff to a Burgh of Barony. The 2nd Earl Fife appointed his factor, William Rose, as the 1st Provost of Macduff in 1783. I hope these photographs are of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.

Murray Aisle Kirk o' the Forest Selkirk Borders Of Scotland
Tour Scotland video of the Murray Aisle in the Kirk o' the Forest on visit to Selkirk in the Scottish Borders. Buried in this Aisle are the maternal ancestors of four times USA president Franklin Delano Roosevelt. It was in 1735 that James Murray took passage to Charleston at a time when British colonies formed much of north America. He returned home only once to marry his cousin, Barbara Bennett, and a few generations down the line came the 32nd president of the United States of America. He served from 1933 until 1945 and is believed to have made a highly-secret visit to the Murray Aisle graves during one of his visits to Britain during the Second World War.
