Duke & Duchess of Cambridge Mark St Patrick's Day 17.03.14
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were the guests of honour at this year's 1st Battalion Irish Guards' St Patrick's Day parade in Aldershot. It is the third year they have attended since Prince William was appointed the Colonel of the Regiment in 2011.
The Duchess presented sprigs of shamrocks to around 300 soldiers on parade and honoured the regimental mascot, Irish wolf hound Domhnall, with his own bunch of the well known plant.

Prince Arthur, the Duke of Connaught visits a home for soldiers disabled in the First World War. Various shots of the Duke making his way round a crowded garden to shake the hands with disabled soldiers. He shakes the hand of one man with a bandaged head who is carrying a toddler in his arms, the Duke pinches the baby's cheek. The Duke is taken to a section of the garden where one of the soldiers using some sort of mechanical device - this could be a demonstration of the ways that the soldiers are put to work ( he might be making rope ).

Duke hands Grenadier Guards Op medals 09.11.12
The Duke of Edinburgh has presented operational service medals to 30 wounded soldiers in Aldershot.
In total 178 medals were handed out to members of 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards.
Prince Phillip, who attended in his capacity as Colonel of the Regiment, took time to chat to those who had been injured as he handed out their medals.
He was joined by Prince Edward, who presented campaign medals to the Guardsmen of Inkerman Company.
The soldiers of Inkerman Company returned from Afghanistan at the end of September to very relieved and happy loved ones.
The Battalion spent their tour in Nahr-e Saraj - one of the most hostile operating environments in Afghanistan.
While this is a day of celebration, thoughts were with the loved ones of those who didn't make it home. Lance Corporal Duane Groom, Guardsman Karl Whittle, Guardsman Jamie Shadrake, Lance Corporal James Ashworth and Guardsman Michael Roland - all of 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards - were killed while on tour.
